Air it before the first round of games or the day before. Ratings everywhere. But that would not be fair. They have already announced long ago what were the qualifications for the tournament. Puma is good, but he technically did not qualify and NASL winner does not get a seed (maybe in a perfect world, but alas). Jjakji was really impressive during the finals, but the only major tournament he has ever competed in has been the GSL and he is not ranked high enough either. Either way, I am taking a wait and see approach. Who knows, maybe MVP might not win WCG.

I understand that that the 10 Best of "N" required by a 5 players groupstage takes time if N>1, but there were plenty of alternatives... Two days groupstage (and ro6 and ro4 the same day to compensate a bit) 3 groups of less players Not streaming every game or two stream + vods Long stream ... Those alternatives are not perfect but imo the most important thing about this tournament was that we would see the best of the best compete to know who is the best player of 2011. And with bo1 format, we are lacking this point.

Ah thx for letting me know. A little bitter sweet news, but I think Sen has a good shot at getting top 2 at WCG anyway

Besides, bo1 groups exposes each participant to a wide variety of players given the time constraint, making sure that one player doesn't get by with a few snipe builds or one solid match up out of three. It really selects the most well rounded and strongest players to get through.

I mean MC really did get fucked with the maps, playing PvZ on Dual sight and Crossfire for bo1s while Hero gets Daybreak and Shakuras...Seriously how fair is that?
