My picks for today:
Socke 2-1 Hwangsin [Hwangsin is pretty all-inish, and I can see him picking up a win off that; however, Socke is damn solid when he's not executing crappy allins like he has in the past in NASL. I'm hoping he's going to "wake up" this week and play his usual standard self]
Morrow 2-0 Softball [As we saw against Idra, Softball doesn't seem able to keep up with top level Zergs. I can't imagine him faring much better against Morrow than he did against Idra...]
Sjow 2-0 Jinro [Although Jinro does seem to be doing a bit better recently, Sjow is known for having a fearsome TvT even against code S level Terrans. I don't give Jinro a lot of chances against his countryman. e: + Show Spoiler [MLG Invitational] +well actually Jinro recently 2-1ed Sjow in the MLG Invitational I guess, but I'm still going to give the edge to Sjow here.
Idra 2-1 Kiwikaki [I can easily see Idra dropping a game to Kiwikaki due to ZvP rage. That said, Idra does have a positive overall record against Kiwikaki in tournament games, and I feel that as long as he doesn't tilt, he has better chances.]

I actually heard his explanation on the "german SOTG" (szenecast). He was playing an IEM qualifier which was rescheduled on short notice. When he had to play his NASL match, Strelok (IEM opponent) agreed that he could wait, but he feared that some admin would give a defwin.
He then had to wait ~45min for his NASL match to start. So he just did allin-builds to get it done. Then he was tilted and lost to Strelok as well.

Socke 1-2 Hwangsin
PvP favors mindgames and cheese. Socke is a better player in almost every aspect except arguably those two things.
Morrow 2-1 Softball
Self-explanatory. Softball is the Artosis of this year's NASL.
Sjow 1-2 Jinro
Jinro's TvT i feel is less developed than Sjow. However sjow's mechanics aren't up to par and brilliance alone, i feel wont be of much help this time. I would normally favor Sjow but the combination of 'any given sunday' plus my intuition about TODAY tells me Jinro is looking for blood and to prove that hes coming out of his slump (which he is) and hes gonna take this one down.

Yeah, this is pretty over after 2x big-terran-ball fail.
Also, Gretorp keeps oddly saying "I'm not sure who's going to win this fight" after the fight is already decided and Softball has like 5 hellions and no thors.

Must admit I thought thor/hellion would beat muta/ling. You live you learn.
Great play by Morrow and very sloppy by Softball. So many mistakes.

MorroW: lose 40 drones to hellions, still have a 25 drone lead on your opponent.
That guy is the most dedicated drone pumper I have ever seen, and it seems to work -- rather than "I'm going to build a bunch of defenses against your harass", it's "I'm just going to make drones faster than you can kill the things".
He's one of my favorite zergs to watch.

I think the caster made a really good point, imo mech really needs to wait for 3 bases before you start pushing. If you push and lose your whole army its too expensive and slow to remake which makes it impossible to secure a 3rd.

That game was.... weird.
Jinro killed nearly 120 workers that game, and Sjow was ahead in army for most of the game.

I was just referring to the humor aspect of his casting, but in general yes orb's knowledge and explanations are just superior to incontrols. Incontrol is more of an entertainer and comedian.

Kiwikaki was totally outclassed by Idra, both games. Game 1, Kiwi was awesome, but Idra was rock solid on his macro.

He scouted double gateway before core so threw down a roach warren. The he scouted the double Stargate and threw down a Hydra Den. I wouldn't call it luck but just good solid play and scouting.

But yeah Idra had great scouting that game, the double stargate fail essentially put Kiwi so far behind that he probably needed to all-in to have any shot at that game (and Idra knew it) since it did virtually no damage (just killed a few roaches).

Kiwi also did this build last MLG, and has been doing it in most of his pvz's. Its his standard or has been for awhile.

I saw Kiwikaki beat Slush with that exact same build on that same map. Although in the game versus slush when he was doing the VR harassment he built up more of just a pure zealot/sentry army instead of stalkers. The idea being the VR forces hydras which are then eaten alive by good FF + Zealots.
The main difference between the game with Idra than the game with Slush is Idra sent his troops out into a wide space to engage, and Kiwi waited a bit longer to engage allowing Idra to get that last wave of 13 roaches into the mix. In the game with Slush Kiwi didnt wait for the roaches to pop out, and he forced the issue engaging slush in his natural where he could easily be FF'd in.
