Why wouldn't you just assume that pylon blocks are disabled on any non-ladder versions? I mean, that's literally the only difference between some ladder maps and their tournament counterparts.

Doesn't matter if your army is stronger than his with zerg bases all over the map there's almost no way to win a basetrade . theres actually no way to win a basetrade, just gotta mass cannon + sentry to hold the counters but the problem with that is that it puts ur econ so far behind which makes ur 200 200 push sorta allinish, and if the z chooses not to basetrade with u and just engages ur army that makes for alot of wasted mins on static d =/, ur obv gonna win the 200 vs 200 engamgents vs the z but by then hes usually on 4-5 bases and has enought econ to max out 2-3 times so they eventually manage to whittle ur army down Yeah that's exactly my problem atm. Maybe I'll just have to try 2 stargate phoenix to try and force them out of muta's.

Gogo research blink within 5 minutes now Ra, just in case :>
I wouldn't call Ret a coward. But yes going muta vs toss imo is a cheap way to try and win. It basically forces a 2 base allin 90 percent of the time.

I had no idea using a strategy that is successful is now considered cowardly.

Why isn't there a supply depot there? Quite ridicolous to be honest, seems obvious that White-ra didn't know it. Losing because of lack of information about their map version is just lame...

Ret Vs WhiteRa is not an even matchup. WhiteRa can pull an upset off of anyone but Ret is one of the best foriegn zergs in the world and Ret greatest strength is consistently beating other foriegners.

That's a good thing tho. It's a bummer White-ra didn't know it. If he did we might have gotten a better game.

Did Apollo just imply HongUn is one of the best protoss in the world? Not sure if I agree. Being in Code S doesn't necessarily make you a great player.

I think the best way to beat a muta zerg is to punish him with a gateway heavy army right before the mutas pop. However, there is no way to know if he is going muta, roach/hydra or infestor/ling until you're actually knocking on his door. PvZ is hard these days You could get hallucination. This will slow down the gateway push a lot, remember that warp gate research and hallucination are researched from the same building. And if you're going 6/7gate blink you need the chrono for the upgrades and the blink upgrade or the push will be too late.

Elfi's statement following his win against HuK! http://www.aceresport.com/uk/news/226.htm
+ Show Spoiler +"Hello everyone! I've just played against HuK and managed to beat him 3-1 but let's recap a little bit. I was confident to face him since my PvP is really good so I was thinking my chances are 50-50. The first game didn't go the way I wanted. I made a scouting mistake which cost me the map but because of that I was able to take 2nd map easily since HuK thought it would be easy to win against my 4-Gate again with the same strategy. This time I was able to scout it and won the game easily and since I made 4-Gate two times in a row I was able to bluff it in the third game and got a very big advantage and won the game. In the last game I decided to go 4-Gate again this time. I was thinking that this match wasn't going well since HuK made 2 fast stalkers to defend but he didn't come down so I was able to get a pylon fairly close and with faster warp tech I won the game. Even though I won the game I was a bit disappointed with my playing. I made a lot of mistakes in the 1st and 3rd games and I think HuK wasn't playing at his top level that he could so next time it will definitely be harder but we'll see tomorrow. I'm playing against SeleCT next and I think I'm the big underdog but I think I can surprise him so wish me luck!"

What would you call 3 pylon cannon contain? Ret went mutas because Whiteras opener completely failed and he wouldn't be able to get out adequate defences due to how far back he was.

If so, I can see him winning vs Idra... I don't know if you can say Ret is in destruction mode based on those two games. The first game Ret counters Whiteras Warpprism/zealot/fast 3rd play perfectly with mutas and the second game Whitera just basically auto lost as soon as his pylon/cannon contain failed. I just saw the score, not the actual games Haha ok then. Obviosuly Ret has a decent chance against Idra no matter if he is in "destruction mode" or not. :D haha yeah by destruction mode I mean his level of play that he showed during the EU blizzcon qualifier for example
