Yeah I'm not sure he would've gotten the cannon down anyway, probably would have and killed a few lings/drones but still not worth the 450 investment.
Typically when I pool first on 13 or 14 I can get the lings out before they do the wall-off (assuming they wall after I place a hatch at 16).

How do you hatch on 16 and then get your pool on 13 or 14? Kill of some drones?

theres actually no way to win a basetrade, just gotta mass cannon + sentry to hold the counters but the problem with that is that it puts ur econ so far behind which makes ur 200 200 push sorta allinish, and if the z chooses not to basetrade with u and just engages ur army that makes for alot of wasted mins on static d =/, ur obv gonna win the 200 vs 200 engamgents vs the z but by then hes usually on 4-5 bases and has enought econ to max out 2-3 times so they eventually manage to whittle ur army down
