If they wall after I place the hatch @ 16 (which White-Ra did in this case) I can get the lings down, kill a pylon (with help from 3 drones before lings pop), lose a couple drones/lings and be okay. Investment worth it since the Toss' Natural Nexus comes up so late...

The first game Ret counters Whiteras Warpprism/zealot/fast 3rd play perfectly with mutas and the second game Whitera just basically auto lost as soon as his pylon/cannon contain failed.

I think the best way to beat a muta zerg is to punish him with a gateway heavy army right before the mutas pop.
However, there is no way to know if he is going muta, roach/hydra or infestor/ling until you're actually knocking on his door.

Although on the ESL website they should really note what changes they've made to the regular maps.

I mean, he knows you can't do that on most tournament maps, only ladder still allows that kinda thing to happen.
