From what I can tell, protoss can either 1 base and just die most of the time, max on 2 bases and perform one push and just die most of the time, or do what Huk has been doing lately. Basically, protoss needs 3-4 bases to really perform well in a macro game vs a zerg. Once a toss has a bunch of gates up and their tech up with the economy to support it they can do fine, but currently toss seems to get stuck on 2 or if lucky, 3 bases. What Huk seems to do is put down many gates, tech, make probes, and make nexuses until he has the production and tech he needs plus the economy to support it. He uses light amounts of units compared to other protosses and lots of cannons with great simcity to keep himself alive until he is ready to really start massing units an push out on the map to take his 4th. He is able to take a 3rd faster than other protoss because he sets up simcity between the 2nd and 3rd with lots of cannons and gates, basically extending his main base to his 3rd. This is hard to explain as it isn't necessarily a unit comp but rather a game management style, I hope this made sense >.>
That sounds like it will roll over and die to drop play. Was this the HuK vs Zenio match?
He used a similar set up in that match yes but I was mostly referring too his ladder games because daybreak has basically a natural simcity leading to the 3rd base, but he definitely was pretty unit light, had lots of gates, etc etc and simcitied a lot in the Zenio match too. Drops does sound like an issue, but probably something solved with just having the proper amount of units on the field and seeing it coming in time.
i feel the last game was a perfect example of protoss falling back on the "dumbest openings" when idra and painuser discussed how protoss always falls back risky allins/openings like dt expand or voidray all ins, in a recent inside the game.
HuK im sure in everyone's opinion was the stronger player of the two, not sure why he decided to do a coin flipish opening.
Clearly because he felt it gave him the best chance to win.
virus was on Huks list of people he wanted to play, which means he probably thinks hes better then virus etc. If thats the case why would you go for an opening what will put you at a severe disadvantage if your opponent builds a missile turret
Because he thought it was his best chance to win? Protoss can't play straight up every game and actually win games, they have to cheese a lot and get a reputation for silly play so that their opponents have to play honest. Protoss is just plain weak right now, that's why very good players like HuK do things that just seem silly: they feel that they have to.
For the most part I think Zenio just blundered it and should have won. A better player than him would have. Huk used a lot of canon's and good sim city though.

MY MIND IS FULL OF unexpected joy? Oh man I am glad I wasn't writing the play by play when that happened. I don't know what I could have said to do it justice while still slammed with the reality of what I just saw.
Watching Huk vs Virus makes be glad I switched to terran, but I think I have to say "I'm sorry" after every game I all-in vs a toss. Toss needs more help, Huk played better than Virus and still lost due to very few micro errors.

You're so very, very wrong about everything in that post.

I literally screamed HOOOOOOLYSHIIIIIIT at the top of my lungs and leapt from my chair when I saw that.
I got a scolding from my mom and my grandma and when I explained "60 banelings vs 15 thors?!?!" they probably thought I was insane.
The comments about how Nada should've split his thors were really funny. As if its common knowledge that you gotta be ready to split your thors when your opponent makes 60 banelings all of a sudden. I bet nobody has ever been in that situation before.

I agree with his last sentence at least in the first Virus v HuK game, didn't get to see the second.
