It's already 19 with Taeja, MKP would be 20 if he advances, and as much as I love TvT (not sarcasm, it's really my favorite match up) I still don't want 20 terrans in code S. Especially not if one is MKP.

Actually it's exactly the same situation as yesterday, except to 2 wins in a round. Rather than having the loser play again you need to have the winner play again. Its potential is exactly the same as yesterday, but rather than playing until there's a clear loser (losing to both other players in a single "round"), you play until there's a clear winner (beating both other players in a round).

He didn't own him the whole game. By making a defensive 4gate while JYP went for blink 3gate, Trickster got ahead army-wise, but JYP had control over the game. He couldn't kill Trickster right away, but decide whether to go for an expansion while trying to fake pressure with blink, which will mostly result into JYP winning the basetrade just as he did with DTs.

I like how you put words in my mouth, telling me what I like and don't like. That's an awesome argument. I never said I didn't like it. I think it's entertaining but winning a game because you built a dark shrine is in no way fair. Or is that perhaps how you win your games? That would explain things.

All it takes is one mistake. He made that mistake and it cost him. Making a massive game-losing mistake is not outplaying in the long run. It's losing. And Trickster just proved that. He may have outplayed at first but oh well. It's like flying an airplane. You can fly it perfectly from the moment you take off, but, if you screw up the landing, that perfect flight doesn't mean a whole lot when you and your plane slam into the ground. xD

This is a horrible mindset for you, this is a strategy game where you have to make the best decisions based on information you have. Lets look at Trickster's decision: Decides to account for the chance of DT with the forge, builds one cannon to be super safe against it, yet then decides to move out. That is asking for a base trade unless you know for certain that JYPs army is at home. Owned him? JYP was down but not out, I would say his blink stalker control would of beat Tricksters when it came down to it. Did JYP play a bit risky? Yes, but he calculated the risk vs reward and decided that the path he took was the better one. He won, so he is better in that game. I didn't know the GSL banned DTs from competitive play. Here is a good section of Playing to Win to read: Playing to Win: Introducing the Scrub...

There are little mistakes, big mistakes and retarded mistakes. A little mistake is taking some shield damage on one of your first stalkers, and in PvP when both players micro perfectly will cost you the game, A big mistake is losing your early stalker and will cost you the game if your opponent doesn't fuck up badly themself. A retarded mistake is predicting DTs, preparing by getting detection in your own base and then moving out with no detection. If you lose to a mistake like this it doesn't matter how many mistakes you or your opponent has made, you deserve to lose.
