I wonder if his favorite lottery number is 2, or if he bets on something else out of spite (1) and always loses.

Standard would've been adding on a Robo, an Obs, and then maybe Immortals depending on what the other guy does. That's what stable PvP looks like in Korea at the moment. Plus, it's not like JYP tried to expand across the map and base trade. He just made Stalkers after cutting probes, and nothing else. You can't play "standard" on Tal'Darim, it's even worse than PvP on ScrapStation ._. There's no defender's advantage AT ALL, sometimes there even is a disadvantage (because in a big battle the attacker can still send a Zealot into the mineral line).

If the game was well designed -a- mistake wouldn't just negate playing well the other 90% of the time. I'm saying the very nature of being able to make a DT and just negate not doing as well as the other guy is stupid and makes the game inherently coinflippy. The rewards for stuff like clutch DT's is way too large. Even if technically balanced, it's just kind of bad design.

When you get past the initial 4gate vs 4gate stage, it's just like normal. If you mostly have Stalkers vs Stalkers, that choke makes for a better defensive position than a ramp on most maps. That's one of the reasons Tester was able to defend so well.
