2011 Global StarCraft II League August/Up and Down

Up & Down Match Format Change
- Code A Winner will automatically advance to Code S without going through Up & Down Match
- MLG Winner will receive a GSL Code S seed for the following month. (Even if the winner is a Korean player, the seed will be provided). If the winner turns down the Code S seed or is already a Code S player then the runner-up then 3rd place will be given the seed.
- Code S 4th Place Players (8) + Code A Top 7 = 15 players
- Players will be divided into 3 groups of 5.
- One group per day will be broadcasted. Each group’s 1st and 2nd Place will advance to Code S.

MKP needs to get to Code S so he can come in second again and get a Silver Mouse equivalent.

Why didn't GOM make some kind of Golden Mouse equivalent for Nestea and MVP to win? Is it because they don't consider GSL Open Season or GSL special tournament wins equivalent to GSL Sponsor Season wins?

I hope a Protoss makes it through today, hopefully JYP. His creative play is should be interesting.

Taeja is also another one that I'd like to see advance further. He seems to show really strong play.

MKP and Taeja. Calling it on the basis that they are Terrans, not on the basis of skill.

I think Violet is being grossly underestimated by us though. I think he's gonna own some face and we're gonna be like, wait what?

Because there are a lot more GSL's a year than OSL/MSL, so the standards for excellence are different. You need like 5-7 GSL's to be worth the same as 3 OSL/MSL's.

3 GSLs is way less of a deal than 3 OSLs or 3 MSLs because there are like 10 GSLs in a year

Regardless of number, GOM should have some kind of Golden X for people to strive to win. Even if it takes 5 or 10 GSL wins to earn it, it would be a nice motivator.

Hoping for JYP/Taeja. Tester would be cool too, but I dont think he has what it takes to make it. I never really been a fan of MKP, especially seeing his play these last few months. And Violet, I dont really see him through.
