Yeah, Koreans will most likely take all the qualifier spots and most of the open bracket slots at Caesar's palace depending on how many show up. For me, my preferred ratio is around 4:1 foreigners to Koreans for the simple fact that any more than that and the tournament becomes more predictable, which takes away the fun in watching it. A few Koreans have the chance of being knocked out, but when half the field is Koreans it becomes much less likely. At least it's not as bad as BW when 3 Koreans would come to WCG and beat everyone without even flinching. Everyone knew a Korean was going to WCG every year 100% and that was with only 3 Koreans attending.
Sorry if this sounds racist in anyway. It's certainly not meant to be. It's just the current state that the players from different regions are in and my desire to watch competitive StarCraft 2. I wouldn't much enjoy watching a league that had half NFL and half NCAA teams either.

I don't think many koreans are going to fly over to play in the open bracket, that's why I hope koreans take all 8 qualifying spots so we have a decent amount of koreans there.

Single elimination doesn't suck. It means it is all on the line, and there is complete pressure and tense moments at every point in the event. You can't afford to screw up, and that I like to watch. People just don't want to see their favorite players go out early, but at the end of the day I think as a viewer I enjoy the drama more than the long drawn out tournaments where some people has to win 30 BO's to get to the finals from the losers bracket. It sucks to watch a double elimination tournament drag on forever as some player is sitting in the top half of the winners bracket waiting.
How many other sports do double elimination? Almost all major sports out there follow the following format - Some sort of pool play/regular season/accumulative point seeding process -> Single elimination tournament. The only one I can think of right now is the little league world series, and that is because it involves 9 year olds.
Also single elimination tournaments give a much better finals format. I hate how double elimination tournaments either end up with extended series, or a situation where one player has to win 2 BO's and the other only one. I just want to see 2 players who are undefeated meet and play one BO 7 to see who the champion is, who played well enough to go through an entire bracket without losing a series.
Double elimination is to reward the players for their skill. How many people cry about some player who gets knocked out early by the eventual champion and people say "he's in a slump." No he's not, he could've made it to the finals or semis if he didn't meet that player so early. Player placements will be more reflective of their skill. I will cite every single GSL final as my evidence against that kind of system.
But you are right, a seeding process would also help solve that problem while at the same time preserving viewer sanity and a more dramatic finals.

God forbid the best players do the best in a tournament. And look at the invites, all foreigners. Is it so hard for you to take 30 seconds out of your day to actually understand what is going on before you post?

Will there be booths for players on the main stage? Will spectators be allowed to watch the qualifier games from behind the players? When the theater is full is there another area for overflow Bronze spectators to watch?
One interesting idea I had was if the games are put on screens in the poker room. Poker + SC2 on monitor! For Sunday I would probably be glued to my theater seat, but for the earlier rounds this combo sounds fun.

Yes.

Yes, to a degree.

Short answer: Maybe.
Long answer: Still working with the venue on regulations and rules for the main theater and figuring out if we can get space for a secondary viewing area. Still, the main hall seats 1,800.

Good idea, however, I'm sure you'll find plenty to do during the earlier rounds ;3
Also, remember that EVERY Ro32 finals game is shown on stage, including seeding matches, there's no downtime to great matches that can glue you to your seat.

Awesome! Cannot wait for this.
This looks like the best SC2 event of the year thus far!

I agree there will be so much great Starcraft to watch all the time. But it's Atlantic City so there is also so much great gambling to do as well, what a terrible dilemma! Poker room video feed might get some crossover fans?

If you're under 21, no need to attend. NJ gaming and gambling commission won't allow you in the casino. They check ID pretty regularly. However, the beach is very nice.

Make your team league IPTL or something. = /
Our team league is called IPL Team Arena, I'm not sure what you're talking about.
Can you invite some delegates from China, too? A lot of Chinese SC2 fans in the East coast. Dreamhack just invited idra & Tyloo.infi to Dreamhack summer in Spain.
Dimaga also please, only 3 more invites left, kinda sad.
