Some good matches today. Torn between Fenix and Ret
The no-protoss day. At least we have Mana and White-Ra in Winners Bracket.
Going for Tarson BratOK Nerchio Ret
Question: when a series is cross-server, do they switch between servers or just play on NA?
Though I'd like a drewbie win, Tarson has a pretty large advantage here. Lalush should win over bratok, then Nerchio and Ret are pretty clear favorites in their matches IMO... Vibe is pretty much a ZvT specialist, and only Fenix's TvT has really impressed me.

NA vs EU = Played on NA NA vs NA = Played on NA EU vs EU = Played on EU

surprised these threads are pretty small LR wise. I tune in every day!
Tarson should have known. Drewbie is going for this mass Marine style a lot lately.
And its Apollo and TotalBiscuit again! I've been listening to them all day haha with Assembly and now this.
you guys need korean players if you want to be taken seriously either wise its a league for playground kids
I'm really loving the mix of casters for this event.
Great stuff.
I like it, with or withour koreans. Not much replies here, too bad
I don't mind the lack of Koreans or the "quality" of the players, I just hate the fact it's being dragged out for so long, by the time this whole thing ends the games would have been played literally 9 weeks before the conclusion. It's not worth the post-production when the meat and potatoes are the games.
edit: not to mention the cheesey sounding casting, but that's just an opinion i guess.

Yeah that is a problem, but I think IGN is placing the broadcast dates to avoid some of the 'lighter days' (Mondays - Wednesdays) and also to avoid overlaps with other tournaments. (Like they didn't broadcast during MLG at all). Thats definitely been dragging the tournament on a bit.
What is Tarson doing? Going back means loosing.
They didn't show it, but the commentators said that four tanks were on the high ground for Drewbie, so he couldn't move up with his split tanks.
Tarson being really indecisive.
Pretty clever play by Drewbie, in that situation he had a massive lead with an upgrade and mobility advantage in a base trade scenario.
We really need a new picture of brat.ok. That's been the only picture used since the beta and it's kind of creepy
Missed the Tarson vs Drewbie games. Are the VODs worth watching?

If you want to see someone handling tank/marine with mostly marines and some good marine spread yes. There was some interesting tactical play and a base trade as well. The VODs are worth checking out if you like either player.
I'm really loving Brat_ok's play here, though it seems really fragile.
Man, people don't seem to be watching the IPL much anymore. Only 5k at prime time?
Also, I miss TB and Apollo.
Hmmm - despite constantly taking out lots of BratOk's forces, Lalush hasn't been able to really push forwards against BratOK.

Thanks for the info. I'm not particularly interested in either player, so I guess I'll pass.

I keep trying to give it a chance, but just not getting hooked. Maybe it's not as cool compared to all the LAN events, maybe its the lack of Koreans, maybe it's something else I have no idea. It kinda just feels like another one of the many online tournaments.
Nice game. Would have been different if the T had gotten any casters (beyond Medivacs).
Game 1 of bratok and lalush is highly recommended.
+ Show Spoiler + Wish bratok got ghosts but still interesting to watch the siege dynamic
That was a fun game. I don't think the casters appreciated Brat_Oks comeback quite enough. He was way behind after his first attack failed, but almost got back into it with the risky fast third. I think he could have made it really close if his tank push had moved a little bit faster.

seriously bratok's mechanics are so strong but he's getting raped because he totally overlooks thors, ghosts, and blue flame. even ignoring like the best 50% of the terran armory somehow bratok continues to perform pretty well in tournaments
Lalush knocks out BratOK. Lalush abused his mobility to take him out - I feel like a thor would have helped BratOk out greatly against all those mutas.
Not nearly as interesting as game 1 (which I highly recommend), but still a good watch.

Definitely needed a Thor or two to help keep muta harrass down.

Agreed. The most impressive tank marine macro style I've seen as of late. Curious how his games at assembly went (haven't watched any yet).

I watch it from time to time but these first rounds aren't really interesting, there's only like one game per night I want to watch so If I'm doing something else then I can't be bothered to turn the stream on really. The interviews in between games are really boring too for me, I don't really care about most american players that they interviewed and the questions aren't interesting anyway.

Brilliant interview by Drewbie.
'I don't like the fact that toss can do damage in the midgame in any way besides Collosi.' [Personal paraphrase]
Doesn't like collosi or Infestors. God forbid there be units to counteract the ball. -.-
Do like the interview though and the IPL is looking better and better these days.

The colors are a bit difficult to see during the roach battles for me at least.

anyone else see the screen flashing green?

I didn't experience any problems with the stream today.

Nice, Tastosis casting the best match up (well, thats my opinion at least, but I'm a Ret fanboy) of the night.

That barracks placement is awesome.

So they held onto the reaper... until it was dead. (nonchalantly)
LOL...!
Great hellion harass - too bad we couldn't really see the attack inside Ret's main.
Really thought Ret messed up there.
EDIT: lol, spoke too soon.
Anyone else reminded of Day[9]'s daily: Less Is More?
I feel like Fenix is still losing.
Fenix had so successful hellion harrass. Then he expanded wayy too late and dropped 2 full medivacs to focus down one extractor. He threw this game.
Pretty easy victory for Ret in game 3. After bouncing back from the initial harass, he took control of the game and never let go.
WHY is there sooo much time in between matches??
It's not like it's casted live. I love IPL don't get me wrong but seriously is this freaking clock nescessary between matches?

Missed the last set of matches(Ret Fenix: Game 2), can anyone summarize it for me in spoilers?

The matches have all been played, the clock is a countdown to the rebroadcast i believe. Also, it is a really cool looking clock.

ah regardless even in between normal games (not rebroadcast) there seems to be quite a bit of needless downtime. I'm sure you guys would get more viewers if it was non stop games

Are you serious, the time between each game is max a minute, between each series max 5minutes.
People will wait however long it takes for a match, just look at MLG or NASL finals.
My take on the low viewernumbers is that it's pre-recorded casting from replays that are over a month old.

wasn't mini vs nerchio played yesterday? is this some sort of review?

Yes? And today was vibe vs nerchio.
Wtf they are playing yesterdays games.... what's going on? O_O
For some reason I find it really hard to tell what matches are going on during IPL and where in the brackets/pools it is. I feel like it shouldn't be hard to figure out, yet I always struggle to find out what's going on.

It's a rebroadcast from yesterday's set. The new content is over with for today! If you missed it you can catch the European rebroadcast at 9:30 a.m. PDT / 6:30 p.m. CEST on Saturday!
Oh, if it's a rebroadcast shouldn't it be labelled as such?
IPL has been sloppy thus far, to be honest. Why are you guys showing so much rebroadcasted content? We've all seen the interviews and we really don't wanna see the random player matches in between the main event broadcasts. This tournament really should have been over by this week, but you just won't show us the real matches.
Why?
I understand the team league thing you are doing, but everything else is just unnecessary. And some people may think I'm hating, but the viewer count speaks directly to what I'm talking about.
