the tournament is held in Warsaw, Poland - August 6-7th. I will be there and I will try to cover it for you guys here on TL exclusively. Live coverage (hopefully - I might be working there as a staff member so that might not happen), but other than that I'll try to get thousands of photos, video clips, and interviews (a lot of interviews).
Two players have been announced so far:
NaNiWa ThorZaIN White-Ra Nerchio
and more to come.
And if there are any WoW heads here on TL let me know. Although I know jack about WoW I might be able to cover it for you as well, but I will need some info.
I'll be trying to keep you guys posted on what's going to happen. If I will know for sure I won't be working there, I'll grab a press pass and do what I love doing - write.
Ppl behind the event are also the owners of ESL Poland and they are responsible for making best offline / online events in Poland so we can expect only good things to happen.
I will be prolly taking some questions for the interviews from you guys, the community, so keep checking this thread and my new blog: www.probeadventures.wordpress.com.
Aren't Naniwa and Thorzain playing with F.United in the GSTL on August 4th? Will they really fly out there then back then out there again, given Thorzain cited travel disruption as his reason to give up his Anaheim seed?
Event takes place in Warsaw city center popular mall - Zlote Tarasy. If you're able to visit Poland these days, you'll find this event very easily. As far as I know, spectators will be able to watch games on a very big screen sitting in a cinema - looks fine for me.
I will be at this event also - anyone coming send me a PM maybe we can meet up before and have a small TL meetup in Warsaw :D
My one problem with the event is this however. Only two players have been announced. This causes them to have a huge disadvantage as everyone can prepare strategies and builds against these two. It really sucks for NaNiwa and ThorZain. Also, I have tried my best to get in contact with the organizers about where the players are staying to maybe do some coverage but I have not learned much.
It's not very viewer friendly that we only know two players that will be at the event. It really doesn't give spectators a reason to come if no one knows who they're going to watch...
It's going to start in little more then 10 hours! Should be a great tournament. Fantastic players, huge prizepool and double-elimination. What more can you ask for?

because he will be on the way home @ time when it started, i guess he just have to decline this time
It`s true that no player plays Assembly + Bnet Invite. But it seems most players chose Bnet over Assembly. To be honest, before Assembly Dimaga proved not that much to consider him Top8 EU.

sorry, but u're wrong he always was top8 no doubt since eaarly beta. He wins the most highskilled koreans in world-korea and almost bring win to world, on tlpd he never was lower 8 place on eu, u can didn't even count all this weekly cups, which he crushes every week. Was no 1st places in international big lans before - that's correct
How come it doesn't say how many people qualify for blizzcon? That is the most important part of the tourney. I would guess it is top 3 like in wc3 but who knows.
Am I just missing the information on number who qualify like an idiot?
So I'm sitting in the venue right now, and this event is going to look sooo sick.
Blizz has rented out a movie theatre with stadium seats and a screen that looks like it belongs in an imax, and they're planning to pack the place out.
The event has ended. I'm currently uploading interviews (which will take some time coz of my internet). Anyway... here's the only audio interview I managed to get on tape with Joe Miller - one of the hosts for the event.
