He won't have those tournament success because he streams so often and has a very unique style.
Every pro knows how he likes to play so they just hardcore metagame him.......which is perfectly fine because that's what they should do.
However, seeing his recent results against the Koreans, because they don't know everything about him, you can see on a unprepared situation, how good he can play.
Afterall, destiny won't stop streaming, and he shouldn't stop streaming, not only because he provides such great entertainment, but also because streaming is the more stable source of income compare to any tournament right now ( I won't be surprised if he makes at least 7-8k a month now).
With that being said, as long as he streams, he won't have tournament results.

Has also been going out of his way to be really mannered lately in public games, I think.
Maybe this guy can get a little respect now. add HuK and Puzzle to that list too I think it is just the mass Infestor play that stops people from giving him too much credit, and I'll admit I have that feeling somewhat as well. i know his infestor play is good but to just make all these top players look silly by going the same build every single game is just not right.
I don't understand why CANT infestor play be the standard, if it's that good; why CANT it replace muta/ling to some extent.
If you see the games people just go for straight hardcounter, destiny can still pull to the late game and win, then you can see infestor is not gimmick, it can be the core unit.
When's the last time you see DRG/Idra go for anything but muta ling baneling? If he's good with it, and it works perfectly fine, why would he change?

It doesn't matter even if he stops streaming. In tournaments, especially prestigious ones, all it takes is one Bo3 for people to analyze and counter your style. So, it's not about the streaming, but the fact that he does play a unique style, and almost always plays that style. Players have to be well-rounded in all aspects to win or place well in large tournaments, where every opponent will be studying and analyzing you.

While you said is true to some extent, I think you underestimated the effect of his stream.
He streams almost EVERY game of his, that means he can't hide new builds and stuff. Everyone can watch everything he does, and they will if enough money is on the line. If you watched the game he played against socke, you would know.
Socke knows he loves to send 2 infestors behind the mineral lines on XNC, so he build a cannon on the high ground. You rarely see that from any protoss.
The amount of information about him and other players out there cannot compare. You can probably get 10-20 replays and guess the style of your opponent if his famous, in LANs like MLG you can't even do that because there are so many no names.
But it doesn't matter who goes up against destiny, there's a huge chance they will know what he's gonna do.
With that being said, am I saying Destiny is so good he should be in Code S or Code A?
No, he's good, he can compete with the best, but he's not Idra, Sheth or Huk level. Yet he's still good, lag or not, if he took down bomber, ace, rain, puzzle and Huk, he should get some credit.
Not saying he's on their level, but he can compete with them and have a chance to take a Bo3 or even 5.

He won his first GSL when every zerg was dying to marine scv allins. I don't recall him getting particularly strong after a zerg buff, he rarely uses infestors anyways.
I think Destiny is still very underrated and is a great player now, but don't defend him by bashing the god of zerg.

I think it's weird how little credit Destiny gets.
Just as an example, if some imaginary player (not Destiny) figures out a new strategy that is extremely difficult to beat even for the best players but he never wins any tournament himself nor reaches much personal success as a player, he would still have contributed much to the community. I would say at least as much as a pro player who spends 14 hours a day practicing standard strategies that someone else figured out.

Yeah, Nestea's style wasn't affected one iota by the zerg buffs.

It's not surprising, many people automatically dislike whoever/whatever is popular.

Destiny winning no surprise for me there. Watch this next MLG how every Zerg from good to mediocre post great results and then we can hopefully have people admit that Zerg is imbalanced.

From a Protoss perspective I don't understand why players think ghosts are going to be so amazing vs Zerg in the long run, feels a lot like HT vs Ghosts which was so difficult until recently. Myself and plenty of korean protoss I watch now go HT/Archons even if they see ghosts coming since the EMP changes, as all you need to do is keep half your HT/Infestors behind your army and bring them in once the ghosts have been baited into using all their energy. Thats with the whole Protoss army suffering hard from EMP, it doesn't even affect most of the Zerg army.

really awesome match up the last game was super exciting.

Did you not see where the previous balance whiner end up?
Come on....

We dont need posts like this..
People arent MAKING GHOSTS! We cannot judge this style until we see a good terran player utilize ghosts to properly counter it.

Really good games, congratulations to the winner!

But I don't see a point in this discussion. Destiny has not won anything of importance with this infestor use, and no top Zerg in the world has won anything with mass infestor use.
Complaining about balance until a bunch of Zergs start doing that is pointless. As far as we know, any better player with some experience would rape Destiny (or Idra) if they tried mass infestors at a tournament, like Socke did (and Minigun in one game)

Hehe
This is the way this thread should be, not derailed by balance-whine about a unit that isnt even used that much at top lvls. Not yet anyway.

So did the whole "omg he's a code S player who's been to code S finals he can eat foreigners for breakfast" logic finally wear off?
