Oh well he still won. Anyway was the best finals from sc2 i have seen.

unlucky? he was out played. only reason he won game 7 was because mc decided to go all in and it didn't work.

Puma won because he was better.

Someone from playxp wrote a clever analysis of GSL final failure:

"In GSL, after the quarter-finals, the time given to prepare is just too much.

With so much time to prepare, players come out with perfectly prepared build/timings.

However, when such build/timing fails, because it's just too perfectly planned out, we do not get a long intense game but rather one landslide victory.

Either win game 1 and win it all, or fail game 1 and lose it all.

Unlike the Finals(-esque[better build order player winning rather than more skilled player winning]) Games, it's more of Build Order fight.

But with drastic number of games like NASL format (many tightly scheduled games), it is unusual to be a build order fight. It will be a Finals of skill player coming on top, solely depending on players dedication and practice and talent.

And with such practice and commitment to the game, it will only result in Good Games."

That's actually really interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I think he has a point, but it's hard to say if one is better than the other. Sure, as spectators we want entertaining games but I'd imagine some pro players prefer to be able to practice for that one game.

Considering how epic the NASL finals were, I really wonder why the GSL always has terrible finals.

Last terrible finals is just a purely players issue. Considering production quality - NASL is not even near GSL at all.

I prefer the rather casual feel of NASL much more than the sterile atmosphere at all the GSLs. The awkward but funny interviews, the small technical issues put aside by jokes and most importantly the incredible audience made NASL a much more pleasant watching experience for me than GSL has ever done.

I'm not going to lie the thing that annoys me about GSL is the fact that the voice does the names and then theres these plastic sticks being whacked and a few people cheering. It has no vocal presence.

MC knows HuK pretty well so I'm sure he can conjure something up for him.

But that goes both ways. HuK had the upper hand in HSC3 so I'm really looking forward to their match.

Well from this weekend I can say with confidence that I love NASL's tournament system, everyone of those sixteen players deserved to be there. You can look at other tournaments and sometimes you get one or two players that seem to luck out with easy brackets and other tournaments where get two lucky all-ins to get to the final sixteen.

I didn't actually watch any of the NASL prior to the finals besides the appalling first day though.

NASL feels more organic, not so corporate. the GSL is nothing but corporate.

So organic now means worse and corporate means well run and good production?

And so two Korean players completely save the NASL! I wonder how many people will subscribe to season 2 now, versus the number who would've subscribed if MC had lost 4-1.

I am definitely buying a season 2 pass.

Showed that Terran can beat MC? I think you must have missed Bomber and Polt's matches with MC before =p PvT is clearly MC's weakest matchup, but as you can see, its still friggin' beastly o_O

When I read comments such as these, I ask myself whether there are Protoss players to whom PvT isnt the weakest MU.

I am, why is that a nickname?

he's gonna buy skincare for his price money

I don't know what skin problem Puma has, but I'm just glad that the price money will be able to help him deal with it.

People might find it funny that he would want to use the money on skincare, but trust me, if there's a problem with your health then that's more important to you than a say a new car, ect.

This. Not to go too much on a tangent, but keep in mind certain treatments (laser etc) do require quite a lump of cash. There are plenty other malign skin conditions beyond ordinary acne. It could help much his self-esteem and personality as a young person..

Oh how I enjoy high-level Starcraft II action, with some scintillating plays along the way. Hopefully, this will inspire an even higher level of play globally. w00t.
