They do a knife round before the match, winner of that round picks which side they start on. From there it's 15 rounds on each side, first to 16 rounds wins the match.

Q: Please give us a brief overview of your games today. A: The Ro16 was a ZvZ (Snute), Ro8 was a ZvZ with F91 (91 Bro ), and a ZvP (vs TitaN) in the semifinals. Actually I was most nervous during the first series, made a lot of mistakes, but thankfully the opponent made more mistakes and I was able to come back. I felt very conflicted against F91, because he is a very strong player, but I was able to play to the best of my abilities and was quite lucky to get the win.In the (first game of the) last series against the Protoss, he expo'd off a single gas, which is very vulnerable to ling rushes, but has a very good economy if he's able to get his expansion running. So I decided to rush him and take the win. In the second game he chose the same single gas expansion opening, but I thought he wouldn't make the same mistake twice, so I decided to not rush him, but expand and play a macro game. After I scouted him trying to get a third with Stalkers and Immortals, I took advantage of the timing with a ling bane roach attack and took the game. Q: You are playing against MVP tomorrow, how are you planning to deal with him? A: Actually my ZvT could still use some improvements. But I've thought about how to play against MVP since the first game I got here, because I must think about how to defeat Korean Terrans. But I didn't expect two of them (MKP and Supernova) to be eliminated and only meet one in the finals. I have made special preparations for MVP, I'll do my best! Q: You haven't dropped a game from the group stages to the finals, how do you think you've accomplished this? A: I feel that I'm playing very well at the moment, because I'm very good at offline tournaments. Not sure why, but I get nervous in online tournaments. But offline I don't feel so nervous somehow, because I can't be happy until I've won. Q: NeoTV's Xiaose (Chinese caster) revealed yesterday that you played 80 games (a day) in practice and have a rank 1 Korea Server account, is it true? A: Haha, not quite 80, that would probably kill me. Usually 40 to 60, but maybe 80 at most. But I've got an account, top 20 Korea.(T/N: not too certain on Chinese internet lingo of 马甲, might mean account, might mean achievement end of season badge thing) Q: All the Chinese SC2 players performed very well this time, thoughts? A: I think one of the main reasons is the map pool. Chinese tournaments use very weird maps, and it's very hard to practice for them, and whenever we play IEM or MLG we encounter maps we've never played on before so it's very easy to lose matches. WCG has a lot of more common maps, like ladder maps such as Metalopolis. Moreover the three Chinese players all feel like the type to excel at offline tournaments. Q: Are the Western players' skills similar to your previous perceptions? A: Actually I didn't expect them to be this good, I've always thought Western players to be inferior to Chinese players, but this tournament they've really made me feel they are very good at this game and have a very unique understanding of the game. Q: Sky lost his War3 finals today, did that affect you? Anything you want to say? A: It didn't affect me, I was very disappointed that Sky lost, just a step away from three Championships. Q: Final fighting words for the finals? A: Play to the best of my ability! XIGUA FIGHTING! 加油!
