It was something along the lines of "I don't get why zergs are complaining... they have fungal growth which is like 8 FF around a portion of your army and it does damage."

They should revert the change that made it impossible to blink out of FG, to make up for the fact that FG now deals more damage to armored.

Copying the name of one of your (ex) rival is not very glorious... But well, as long as his playstyle is, that's ok I guess.

It's a translated interview with XiaoT after the match: + Show Spoiler + Q: congratz on your win vs. idra, how do you feel after? A: Thanks! every match has been harder and harder, so my only thought is to focus on them one at a time. Q:In the match did you predict that Idra was going to go fake expo to roach all in? you seemed calm when defending against it? A: I am very careful with my openings and strategies and only uses them after much consideration. I am pretty confident it can defend against rushes with high probability. Q:In 2nd match Idra was able to macro up extremely well, with 200 population to 130 of yours, but you were able to take advantage of forcefield and come back one step at a time. A: With hatch opening zerg will have a huge macro/econ advange over p so 200 at that point is not very uncommon. As long as the location, unit composition, and micro all done properly, p can actually fight against 200 population with just 130. I can also switch from d to attack very fast, so as long as I can get to 3 bases, successfully defend, i'm confident that I can win the match. Q:You should be pretty familiar with Idra, did you specifically prepare to play against him? A: Yea i've been preparing for it lately, xigua[another chinese player, name means "watermelon"] has been practicing with me. I acutally think xigua is 2 levels better than Idra, so there wasn't much pressure playing against him in the real match. [T/N: ouch =P, not sure who xigua is though, if anyone else can fill that information in it would be great.] there are 3 more questions, some about MKP, will do those later after work. Here is the source: http://sc2.plu.cn/interviews/2011-05-18/28659.html XiaoT seems to be comfortable playing high-tech vs. macro Zerg. His decision making is pretty good all around. Something the casters didn't catch is that Idra DID try to baneling drop XiaoT's mineral line but XiaoT took minimal damage from it each time. He obviously has experience against this style whereas Idra looked... Well, he looked like he didn't have an answer to the FFs and Blink Stalkers. Xigua is a Zerg that almost beat sen in the Asian qualifiers for the Gom WC.

Not to mention, Grubby and XiaOt seem to be fairly friendly with each other, so I assume that, even if it's not borrowed, they've spoken about it.

He is a great guy too. ![]()

(He played in the GSL WC qualifiers and was knocked out by Sen, who then went on to 2-1 XiaOt for a spot on the team.)

I don't know how big of a statement that is. After all, Sen defeated xiqua in the GSL World Tournament qualifier (from what someone else said) and Sen isn't way above IdrA if at all. I know one match doesn't determine everything, but they are likely around the same level if Sen can beat xiqua. Come to think of it though, I wonder who took out xiaot, especially since (if I'm not mistaken) it had to be a player from that Asian group, meaning it was probably Sen or Moonglade. Does anyone know? Edit: Someone answered it right above me. Apparently Sen also took down xiaot. Wow. I'm sure that was overshadowed by the other qualifiers for most people. I'm sure they all have stage experience, and WC3 means their micro will be quite solid. It will be interesting to see how takes it.

I have seen Xigua play, albeit months earlier than this match, and he seems to be a pretty solid Zerg. His style is much more like Sen than it is like IdrA, in that both tend to favor aggression and multi-pronged attacks. Sen seemed a bit better in ZvZ a few months ago when they played in the qualifiers for the WC, but nowadays who knows? I imagine XiaoT said Xigua is better because playing like Sen taxes the Protoss's multi-tasking a lot more, whereas Idra's ball vs. ball play just requires good FFs and stalker positioning. Idra also didn't play his best in those games, though in many ways they were typical IdrA games.

Compare that to those 1-2 early brood lords that sat at his natural doing nothing while he kept freeing up more supply with very little gain.
