I'm not normally the type to whine about balance, but Idra was up like 70 supply at one point in that game (and I believe he was up at least 40 when the first big clash happened). Forcefield shouldn't be able to make up that big of a deficit. They only were a big deal because IdrA hasn't dealt with a style like that. FFs at that stage of the game are counterable with good play; this is especially so because late game there are many more options. For example, IdrA's first big push could have included burrow movement or infestors.

I can't remember the last time I saw a zerg go ultras and do well. They don't have dark swam to protect them, they need more HP or something else to let them get in and do damage, otherwise it's a waste to go ultras in any matchup. It's sad. I'm a protoss player but Ultras are one of my favorite units and it's sad to see them so useless. I am not suggesting they be massed and used as the primary DPS. I am simply suggesting that a few be made, and it will therefore nullify all of XiaOt's sentries... which he invested A LOT into.

He would've had like 4 or 5 less broodlords though to accomodate a few ultras, and they would've been kited with blink. They can break 1 wave of forcefield but they get picked off fast and then a second wave goes up usually.

Also broodlords were a terrible choice vs. blink stalkers. Outplayed.

Definitely a fan after this! I would love to see how they would do against MC though.

And yet people complain that it is too difficult to come back in SC2 when compared to SC1. Either way, XiaOt had a tech advantage and his sentries were alive all game. You know what... lets try this again... On May 24 2011 10:14 oo inflame oo wrote: With a 50-70 supply lead you should be able to kill your opponent. Forcefields are so strong. So a protoss at 150 with HTs/Collosi and Sentries in his army should lose to 200 supply worth of lings?

Since almost every protoss player tends to get sentries in their mix it can be a good idea to invest a few resources in burrow and burrow movement when you focus on roaches for yourself. A-moved roaches simply doesn't cut it. If a protoss with a 50 supply lead using only stalkers would attack a zerg with hydra/infestor he would get smashed aswell, it's not all about supply counts -.-
