He convincingly won game 1 by expanding earlier and defending a colo push with his own colossi.
Game 2 and 3 he tried a variation of the double gate quick 3 stalker defense similar to what TT1 used before. However that build has huge flaws as the 4 gater can simply put up the proxy pylon in a much safer spot and then put another pylon closer after the first round of stalkers. This happened in game 2 and 3 where whitera simply got smashed, game 2 it looked a little close, game 3 was over in 5 mins.

C'mon OP, Huk's silly with the hold position did hurt a little, but it's not like that single mistake cost him the game all by itself. Stop rubbing it in already :-p
Dimaga, very impressive!

Wow, Dimaga. Just wow. He MUST go to Korea to pwn in the real GSL. Holy fuck. He actually took down Nestea in a Bo3 ZvZ.
|
I'm definitely not a fan of the YungHwa 3 quick stalker defense against 4gate.. its just way too vulnerable - relying on taking out the probe every time before it builds a pylon close enough is so ridiculously difficult to do and stressful.

Just saw the WhiteRa vs. San matches. I'm so sad now. I feel really bad. I want to go to Korea and give WhiteRa a hug.
WhiteRa fighting!

Yeah cuz making Code S is "not results". LOL
Clearly he sucks because he doesn't win every single tournament he plays in.
And yeah, believing you are the best is totally an attribute unique to HuK and no other SC2 players...
I'll never understand the HuK hate. OMG he believes in himself and is honest! NOOOOO WHAT AN ARROGANT PRICK!!

Yes he made it into code S, no he did not win any special matches or what so ever, nor is he showing consistent good play compared to others. They'll still hate him even if he starts to show results, just because they can.

Hey guys, i havnt had time to watch the matches yet but do you know the group were made? why is NaDa playing July first round instead of NaDa and July each against a non-korean?
|
There are different ways of losing games, alot of ppl even while losing show spectacular plays and gain respect from that. Huk is a total opposite - when losing he looks very shaky and just outclassed, and his wins are nothing special so far (4gate against mvp, grats)
Being self proclaimed "top 3 control" plus being a huge attention whore in general doest help either
Oh ye, did i mention the terrible "ceremonies" he did? How can he have any "fans" is actually amazing

I was thinking the same. Especially if the other guy knows this. When he sends out 2 probes and knows some good nooks on the map then it seems almost impossible to prevent and at that point you can just hope that on top of this your 3 stalkers doesnt even get caught off-guard or sandwiched while retreating, which is probably instant gg in 99 of 100 times.

When idra does it tho everyone loves him for it.
I have never actually heard Idra say that he is the best player, or that he has top3 control, or in his case that he is the most soid player / player with the best macro. He has never said that he should win a tourney because he is the best player there. "Ace and me are probably the favourites" is like the most he has said in sc2. Also he has a lot of respect for the skill of some selected other players. Huk has never shown that.
You see, if you even think more of yourself than idra, with even less accomplishments it's bound to annoy a lot of people and they are gonna mock you if you don't back up your words.
And btw: Dimaga is the best!

The groups were all made randomly. So basically, there were 16 spots in the bracket, and from a box of 16 position placeholders, each player would pick a placeholder, and get placed there. So it was actually lucky in a sense that 7/8 Ro16 matches were foreigner vs. Korean.

You mean 6/8.

I think MVP has perfected that build he does on the bigger maps, I have never seen him lose with this strategy. Dunno why he didn't do this in the TSL

There should be 1 foreigner vs. foreigner Ro16 match in addition to 1 Korean vs Korean and then 6 Korean vs. foreigner. It was Moonglade vs. TT1 that was the foreigner/foreigner if I remember correctly. Thanks for the correction!

Just watched the VODs, and while I was obviously saddened that White-Ra lost...
Holy shit Dimaga <3 What. A. Beast. NvZ has been defeated, and Dimaga completely outplayed NesTea in every possible way in game three. No cheesy 6pool or anything like that. Made me so satisfied. And I love how enthusiastic Dimaga gets
HuK... yeah, that was expected.
Question: All of the matches are Foreigner vs. Korean except for one pairing on either side. Were they said up randomly, or were they supposed to be organized as FvK? (And if it's the latter, why did July play NaDa and not a foreigner? Issue with players playing on certain dates?)
