Given one base Terran going for a safe, later expo against a hatch first zerg turns out to be a fairly even matchup (assuming no bunker shenanigans), I'm glad a baneling bust works against a CC first Terran. If it really was so viable, it would horribly imbalance the matchup (and we've seen plenty of games where Terran has had a comfortable ride to victory off a CC first build that goes unchallenged).

Hasuobs's chance of making the top 4 just rose a gigantic amount given how his bracket will probably look now.

OH MY GOD BANELING BUSTS! NO SKILL INVOLVED! I LOST ALL MY RESPECT FOR MORROW.

*clank clank*

Phew, finally fixed that sarcasm switch, it's been stuck on for weeks.

Well, that's a wrap for today! I hope you've enjoyed the LR even though I'm not that good. There were some very, very good games today. If any of you missed them, please check out Huk v Hasu Game 2, Jinro v Morrow Game 2 especially! Those were some pretty tense action packed forwards-and-backwards games.

The baneling next went down soon after the scv was killed, and I can only wonder if Jinro was expecting Morrow to play a more economic game instead of going for another bust.

He didn't fall for it, he made an extra strong wallin. Taking the nat at the front is a bit suspicious

I like how when people started complaining about FF abuse after the Code S finals there were immediate bans. However, people can complain about baneling bust abuse and nothing happens? I'm confused?

I'm confused. Why would anyone NOT go baneling bust vs. that opening? Especially when Jinro transitioned directly to medvacs rather than tanks.

Just good play by MorroW. If you're the T there, you have to be prepared for the zerg just making an ass-ton of blings off 2 base w/o lair and killing you. 'Course, you also have to be prepared for ultra-fast muta harass, which basically means you need to scan both hatcheries to see the lair timing. Which is why large maps like Crevasse, Tal'Darim, etc. are so hard TvZ.

CRAZY matches today. Man, I love TSLs xD. Too bad my bracket and my Liquibets are screwwwwwwwwed though, lol. Well played by Morrow. Jinro should've walled in with bunkers though. They're salvage-able and 100 minerals, cmon Jinro. With that econ lead, you should've made like 4 and just watch Morrow wittle away after Stim came. Idk, I also feel like a scan on the baneling's nest would've made that build a lot more robust in case Morrow never did bane-bust and just went 3 hatch macro.

Haha, why would jinro be that greedy? Especially after it happened already in game 1? I'm confused, there probably should have been more bunkers.

Don't think Terran has any choice but to try and be as greedy as Zerg in those positions on that map because if he tried an aggressive opening he just would have been shut down hard and be even further behind.

I don't know what you do against that strat by morrow I mean wallin with 3 CCs?

Mad props to the production crew and everyone involved. The event is amazing so far for an online tournament.

Jinro is a great player... I always cheer for him, and micro-wise at least he was playing really impressively today.

That said, I've noticed that he tends to underperform (at least, relative to expectations) in online tournaments. I think this aspect of starcraft might be similar to court surfaces in tennis (there are three court surfaces, clay, hard, and grass, and players usually do better on of the three).

You're right, everyone. When Jinro 14 cc'd, MorroW should have sat back and done nothing. That was clearly the correct counter, instead of using aggression to push back against Jinro's econ-heavy openings. If your opponent is better than you, as is the case of Jinro being better than MorroW, you have to do something that makes your opponent step outside his comfort zone. You have to make him step sideways and adapt to you, instead of letting him set up his gameplan and roll over you. If you wanted to win a game against a superior opponent, you would have done the same thing. It's strategy 101.

take a quick third and more drones instead of making 50 lings and banelings? Thats what he should have done instead of playing like a all in newb

yes CLEARLY when you have a window where you KNOW you can win the game and it has worked before in a prior game in the series. The correct response is to back off and drone in the hopes of having a chance later.

I don't even know why ppl are surprise at morrow.
I mean, remember guys, Morrow is the one who make 5 rax Reaper be nerfed. He know how to abuse the ZvT match-up like he knew with TvZ.

WHY? WHY are you people bashing Morrow?

Read Thorzain's interview on how he says that build is completly vulnerable, and it's pretty much auto-win for the zerg. Try to do it against an experienced player that knows terran inside and out and he's gonna roll over you.

There is no way you can recover from that point, lifting is indeed the best option so you don't lose production. Props to Morrow for doing the right thing, this reaction should be as normal as bunkering/wall after seeing a 6pool

Which interview is this?? WTB

Q: For the game on Terminus, you came out with an interesting but seemingly risky double expansion strategy. How much time and effort went into this build?

The map is so huge that I felt that I would dare to take the risk. It's obviously vulnerable to early pools and such but I felt that I needed to take the risk to have a good chance in the game. I did find out just like an hour before the game that it's really vulnerable against a certain strategy though, but I didn't have time to change my build and just prayed that FD wouldn't use it against me.

You realize that there is a major difference between a single and double expand, yes?
