Could a mod edit the OP and update the quote from me with the list of videos?? Basically replace the whole quote from me with a new quote from this post.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewpost.php?post_id=8274725

I put a link to my own post and a notable spreadsheet done by bobster in that post so that the links are easy to find on the main page to get the latest info. Hopefully that way the most up to date list is easily accessible in the time between mod edits to update the OP. Thanks.

I like a lot of the VODs, I just wanted to add that I think the NASL is going to be looking for not only tip-top players but personalities. Watching videos like CatZ, Artosis, FXOSheth, TT1, KiWiKaKi, PainUser or Tyler (lol best one) make me look forward to the NASL. I won't name names of the ones I did not care for, but I just think that some of these players need to be themselves and show some personality in their applications. That's just my two cents though, hope to see a lot of these amazing players in the league.

Yeah but would you rather see personality or better games? I'm sure the organizers realize we ultimately just care about the quality of games. If they can have personality AND good games, even better.

Oh, for sure. Obviously they're gonna want the best players. It'll be interesting to see some of these players, who can barely speak to a webcam, being televised at a live event. I only made my point because incontrol and co. have expressed they want a lot of focus on the drama and the personalities in the league.

From what I've heard Hyperdub has the best english in oGs. He didn't aplly though.

He goes to Seoul University. Must be a pretty smart kid.

I'm surprised he's able to do that while playing SC2 competitively.

I believe you mean Korea university.

English to Korean Difficulty

Just as a note, the DLAB ranks English to Korean as one of the hardest transitions to make for a native english speaker to master. I assume it would be the same for the other way around.

Would be nice to see Artosis putting his incredible knowledge of the game to good use.

no it isn't the same the other way around.

Croatian is in category III (Korean is IV), and English is super easy to learn. The starting language doesn't matter much, it's the 'destination' that counts.

Well I think certain languages are more challenging to learn, I think we can all agree that learning an entire new language is never easy.
I was honestly really suprised how good the English of some of the oGs players was, I think it'd be interesting to see HuK or Jinro's Korean.

Well it's kind of off-topic but does anyone know if korean team will make a translated version of their website? Since they want to compete in a foreigner tournament it would be great if they could at least translate it in english, wich is the most speaked language in the world (behind chinese language).

Don't assume things, especially things so blatantly false. Korean is rated as a category IV language, so that's why going from English to Korean is very difficult. Why would you assume going from a more difficult language to an easier one would be equally as difficult?

I'm a bit surprised that people brought up the English skills of the Koreans, when just a couple of pages back, Brat_OK didn't even make a video in English - and the guy is Russian, where I assume that English is slightly easier to learn.

At least the Korean guys made an effort to speak English, and as unimpressive as their English mastery is, the effort and courage (knowing how SHY some of these guys are) is quite impressive.

Edit: Honestly, I'd rate the English of ST_Virus and a few of the oGs guys to be better than White-Ra's...

Difficulty of languages in this ranking is measured relative to English. There's no absolute difficulty scale; all this means is that Korean is for an English speaker because they are very different. In the same way, English is difficult for a Korean because they are very different.

I think the english level of ST and oGs is helped by the foreigner in their team house (torch, jinro, huk, haypro... no sure for him because i doesn't talk a lot ^^)

I don't understand at all why people give these Koreans shit about their English. Did foreigners have to speak Korean to play SC:BW??
I just love that they made something in English. I fucking like it.

People should stop QQing. It is awesome that they tried, just awesome.

We need 10 Koreans in the NASL. How can we not see this? If it is going to be a global league, if it is going to be as good as the GSL, we need Koreans. We NEED Koreans.

They gladly accepted Huk, Ret and Haypro. We should accept all Koreans that come to the NASL.
I had a good night of sleep.
