go ImMVP n fxxx all the whiners. thats why i love mvp, his play is unpredictable. he makes allins, he can do macro games with an amazing pace. maybe today his games werent much enjoyable as last time vs hyperdub. but i in a way i was suprised about it. which is a good think.

as artosis said: ImMVP vs NADA would by my dreamfinal.
I watch e-sports to see the best pro`s in a game do things that "common" pro`s could never do, and almost humiliate them. That skill-range just isn`t present in SC2. Again, I fully agree with having SC2 as a game.

I agree with you.

Although IMMvp is currently the scariest player out there, nobody is immune to a strategy that they have never seen before. Nobody thought Jinro would go Mech against Carriers, especially not oGSmc.

The point is, in this game, anyone can beat anyone givin a proper strategy, good timing and good luck (like those units getting stuck during MC's rush against Jinro.)

Nestea is solid, and Jinro is creative as hell.

I say Jinro takes the whole damn thing.

wow -____-; I mean WOW ! I totally anticipated IMNestea whooping Choya but MVP 3-0 ing Tester and making it look like easy ...

Who's going to stop this guy ? He's the most dominant player we've seen so far in SC2.

Ad you forgot to add: T can not expand when protoss builds goes 4gate / 3gate robo.

This isn't true. T can not do certain expo builds vs 3 gate robo and cannot expand at all vs 3 gate VR as far as i know. That being said, T benefits the most from keeping the game 1 base to 1 base because they can supersaturate their minline.

It'll take a Terran to beat him purely the SCV change in the patch turned them into a mobile PDD when going all in.

Tester
Choya
NaDa
Zenio
TheStC
IdrA
Leenock
Hyperdub

He's so dominant at this point I think I'd be more surprised see him drop a map en route to winning this GSL than not winning it at all.

Makes you wonder how badly someone like Flash would decimate the competition in SC2 when a mid level BW pro like mvp can ascend to the top so quickly.

If that includes Gisado race war, it doesn't include Ygosu invitational, in which MVP went 1-2, losing to Choya and Clide.

e: oh I got the dates wrong and ygosu group stage was before that Gisado event. Still, Gisado wasn't a serious event so including those is questionable

You realize, someone has said that about every GSL winner so far?

Fruitdealer looked like a beast, Nestea was unstoppable, MC was feared by all. The game is still evolving, and as someone figures something out, they become the dominant player until the next person figures something out.

Right now, P cannot FE against a T without risking defeat early. So, early cannons are probably coming soon. Zerg will figure out when best to Hatch, then people will start screaming OP. Until we get ONE player, who kills everyone, no matter the strat, no matter the map, then we will have figured out this game.

I have thought of mvp as a top terran since he showed incredible micro in gsl2 when he owned mass baneling with only marines before anyone had heard of foxer ^^ I think he lost that series though :/

A lot of people were asking about what to do as P vs things like 2 port banshee and Raven PDD pushes. There are a few things you can do, and really you should just get a terran buddy to do those builds on you until you get comfortable beating them, but here's some tips that should help.

- Phoenix gobble PDD. They shoot like twice every second and they make PDDs disappear
- Sentries can focus fire PDD. Just have them on a hotkey and right click the PDD then laugh.
- Zealot sentry phoenix beats iechoic's 1/1/2 build handily (marine/hellion/2banshee). 2 port banshee means no fast cloak so you have some time before getting the robo.
- The T is vulnerable to early agression (no fast stim or conc). Chrono the first Zealot if he's not walling. Fast warp-gate rushes also work if you have good FFs.
- Gas steal screws over this build a decent amount. Also remember that bunker = banshee most of the time. That should help with scouting.

That went as expected, atleast when it comes to who won, betted on both winners on liquibet! (My first bets actually).

I was quite dissapointed that neither Choya nor Tester managed to take a single game.

After watching great group games for two straight weeks, going back to the regular BO3/BO5/BO7 format was quite boring. The game is still too young I think, so it gets quite repetetive and straight 3:0 wins for a BO5 quite likely.

So MVP is gonna beat nestea like he always does. Then we're gonna have nada + jinro + MK + idra on the other side of the brackets. Looking very very likely for a TvT finals :o
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

Yeah, I can't say this was the most unexpected result. Poor Choya/Tester (and Protoss in general).

The problem with the marine/raven/banshee pushes is not just 1 problem, but a culmination of all of protoss' shortcomings and terrans' strength.

-Protoss has no capability of scouting a terran without getting a robo and and obs.
-Stalkers are really bad units in direct combat but you need them to stop any air, harass, or early pressure.
-The necessary counters to different units require teching in completely opposite directions, which is not possible while maintaining any sort of reasonable army.

-Mules allow terran to "supersaturate" and support more production on 1 base than they're supposed to be able to support
-Marines are ridiculously strong earlygame and are only dealt with by colossi and storm
-Banshee/marine kills equal costs of stalkers easily
-SCVs tank shots for zealots while allowing the ranged T army to dish out full damage from safety.
-T can literally make any combo of bio/factory/starport units and as long as they push on a good timing window and pull scvs protoss has little way to live if they expanded.

It's not just 1 specific allin that kills P FE's - it's any random assortment of units. It's difficult to scout from early on where, as a protoss, you have to decide whether to allin, play defensive 1 base, or FE.

SC2 TvP is stupid build order poker.

I'm just thinking out loud here but, wouldn't hallucinate eliminate a great number of these problems?

not against some1 who brings a raven.

And alot of theory going on in this thread. Here is my 2 cents instead of a start port with 1 phoenix he should have gone twilight counsil with speedlots.and doing so open up the techpath to psistorm.

I am fully aware of the blue flame hellion and still i consider this better then a startport with a single phoenix.

Ravens detect hallucinated units, but it doesn't mean those units can't buffer hits. In addition, hallucinated unit attacks drain PDD energy, and allows faster scouting than committing to robo tech. The obvious weakness would be really really fast cloaked banshees, but it's possible the timing might still work out.

Once hallucinated units are detected, the AI will no longer attack them, so unless the terran is target firing hallucinated units (which would be retarded since he has detection), the hallucinated units are pretty much useless.

Little short of games, but they were all right to watch.

Tester shouldn't have tried fast expanding every single game, i wonder why he kept going for it so hard.

I actually enjoyed nestea's matches. I do sometimes go for a 2 base spinecrwaler push with hydras against one base stargate openings but I've never dropped. Don't know why. Definitely learned a few useful things watching his games.

God I love it when these two declare a game's over only to watch it have the complete opposite outcome. This is like the 4th time they've prematurely called GG and have the other guy win.

Why do they keep doing that?

Honestly I think zergs have figured out 4 warpgate quite well. Warpgate rushes are so weak to speedling roach spamming. If you just have 2 bases, you can eventually come out ahead, slowly tech to hydra and speed roach and you will just stomp any transition they can throw at you if you are on equal skill level or better.
