There are soo many posters in this thread complaining about how boring SC2 matches are compared to BW matches, but everyone of you complaining has failed to address that when Starcraft original was less than 1 year old, the quality of the games was REALLY REALLY subpar. Had you went ahead and televised it that early on in it's development (before broodwar) you would be equally unimpressed with every single player doing a 1 base allin rush (with most players probably playing zerg and hydra rushing). The point is Starcraft had an expansion and a decade of knowledge to build upon so that now when you watch a game, you can sit back and enjoy it. Assuming that SC2 will be on par, or even surpass that is absurd.

Its like you are complaining that something that has had time to grow and develop for OVER A DECADE is more enjoyable than a game that just came out, and hasnt been totally figured out or balanced yet. I mean, how is it not obvious that 1 will be better than the other for the time being? To expect SC2 games to be on par with a Broodwar this early is just being naieve, but to state that it will never be equal to broodwar is downright wrong.

Who's going to stop this guy ? He's the most dominant player we've seen so far in SC2.

You realize, someone has said that about every GSL winner so far?

Fruitdealer looked like a beast, Nestea was unstoppable, MC was feared by all. The game is still evolving, and as someone figures something out, they become the dominant player until the next person figures something out.

Right now, P cannot FE against a T without risking defeat early. So, early cannons are probably coming soon. Zerg will figure out when best to Hatch, then people will start screaming OP. Until we get ONE player, who kills everyone, no matter the strat, no matter the map, then we will have figured out this game.

I have to disagree with the 1st part. The only guy in your list holding the comparison is MC. Fruitdealer and Nestea never were as dominant as MVP is right now. Just look at the database ELO ranking for SC2 korea.

IMMVP is going to take this Season!

In the recent Gainward SC2 Tournament he went 2:0 vs NewDawn, 2:0 vs oGsTheSt, 2:0 vs oGsNaDa, 3:1 vs MarineKingPrime and 3:0 vs IMNestea.
And he has a 82% winrate http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/sc2-korean/players/590_MVP

After seeing the complete and total domination of Tester, I am sure that immvp is going to win this whole tournament. He will take out Nestea for sure, and after that... Well, he has taken out both Marineking and Nada before. Jinro is a bit of a wild card. After seeing him beat MC it could go either way, but I think mvp has more raw skill.

I don't know what artosis was saying with it was a "miracle" that NesTea held off Choya's rush on scrap. 5 warpgates + starport on one base!? That is not efficient at all. And the initial attack really didnt have that many units. It wasn't really amaizng play by NesTea, just more poor play by choya

It is when it's done along with a blind double rax and thinking "ok I suck so my only chance to win is to send all my troops and my SCVs at a random timing and hope my opponent screws up a little his micro"

which is REALLY not MVP's case. His scv allin was the result of a perfectly executed thought-out build, and I'm more interested in seeing that than a macro game between 2 code A journeymen.

Not sure what all the whine is about. Tester just wasn't on his game tonight and MVP played really well. Sure he did 2 all in's but he didn't do it blindly. He scouted, saw that tester was FE and reacted. Mvp just played really smart.

I'm dissapointed in tester. It's just like GSL1 vs Rainbow: Tester expands, Terran 1 bases, Terran wins...

*sigh* I guess tha's the state of TvP, Terran > early game, Toss > late game.

I think its only the state of Tester, Terran > Tester early game, Tester > Terran lategame :D

imo pretty expected results, choya isnt really good and tester just has a really weak early game, so i think it was obvious that mvp will try to abuse this.

yeah, mkp/mvp went undefeated till they met eachother

I hope mkp practiced tvt more and will beat mvp now though, but mvp will most likely be this year's winner.
