Then, I wonder why Team Liquid people weren't invited to the tournament. It would of been nice them play. TLO and haypro were great yesterday in the pokeridol tour. Well since this tournament started yesterday i guess TLO and haypro wouldn't have been able to participate in both. Not sure about tyler.

I think the point he was trying to make was the fact that after losing in relatively "macro" games towards Machine, Minigun just gave up trying to be better at the "macro" portion and just went for a semi-all in strat. Meaning minigun risked alot on luck, and hope that his opponet wouldn't react "correctly" to the build, and if they did, he would 75% lose. Of course it was Machine's fault: He should've seen that coming. For example, during the third game, he had made 4 drones after seeing blink. When you get blink that fast, and already have hydra den, then make hydras. I don't know why he made drones, those 4 hydras could've saved him. That was also a problem in the last game, he made drones just as minigun was pushing out. While I disagree with the methods that Minigun used(myself being a more macro player), and may consider them "cheap", it was Machine's fault that led him to lose. Machine's opening is SUPER weak for the early stalker -> follow-up, be it blink stalkers or 4gate. He was just abusing the fact. It's machine's fault he didn't change his build in the 2 games he had to adapt.

While I disagree with the methods that Minigun used(myself being a more macro player), and may consider them "cheap", it was Machine's fault that led him to lose. Of course that was his point, but it was a stupid point. Winning in a method other than a macro game doesn't imply a lack of skill. It implies that he won the game. As I said in my previous point, why on earth would Minigun try to play a macro game after losing two? A win is a win is a win, whether it comes in 4 minutes or in 40. There is no such thing a cheap strategy - only effective and ineffective strategies. In the last three games, Minigun employed an effective one and Machine did not. End of line.
There is a difference between winning the game, and being the better player. An apt example is NesTea vs. TSL_Rain. In a Bo50, who would win? Nes Tea for sure, has by far the superior mechanics and decision making. However, through several controversial all-ins, Rain beat Nes_Tea 4-3 in a bo7.
You can say that people should play to win, and that is true, especially when money is involved. But that doesn't entail that that player should've won. I mean, if you win based on luck, do you really deserve the win?
The point is debatable and has been debated countless times before. Feel free to respond, my only wish is that you see that the issue isn't just black and white, and there are many differing sides to this issue.

Oh yeah i totally forgot about that, too bad he messed up the shadows and the waving flag, was so close tho... MorroW is actually Frank Abagnale irl, he's just wearing a mask.

Not blaming morrow, I know his internet and location sucks, just saying.
Earlier there was a Lost Temple match where it went from cross position to close position on the re-game, which woul obviously have different results.
I just wonder why tourneys don't just keep re-doing until they get the original positions.

Why don't the two of them just play on EU and day9 & wheat just cast off replays? I know reddit organised this whole thing but that might be the only way to get this finals going.
|
They need to go to the EU server. It would be the best.
|
Or they could go cast on EU accounts
|
Wow, this is really lame. =( I really hope the games will be able to be played.

I wonder if it would be possible for Blizzard to make something like a "Load replay state" where you could play a replay from a timestamp.
