In fact he deserves credit for being so close to defending the push in the last game, despite the mistakes he made (player under pressure will almost certainly make more mistakes than the aggressive player anyway). From what I've seen in all 3 games, Ret is the better all-round player IMO. On balanced maps, Ret would probably win 7 series out of 10 against this guy. The thing that irks me is that silly things like this just fuel the talk of Korean superiority. | ||

Though so. Personally I would like to see the game changed to lessen the amount of viable 1base plays from T, but there is no way that can be done without making it possible for T to keep up with Z late game. As the game is currently, going beyond 2base against Z as T just seems incredibly risky, and often staying 1base over expanding to 2base seems like the better option too. Dont hate the player, hate the game. | ||

ret is a very good player, but I think in this game he lost both macro and micro-wise Macro - theBest did a successful push, was able to damage ret's econ greatly by killing two queens, the deaths of those two important units not only mean less larva for drones / units, it also setup a free killing spree for the viking, it killed 5 overlord, not only it costed 500 minerals, it also used up precious larva while its number was already lower than it should be normally, the supply block also made it harder for zerg to catchup both in terms of works and fighting units Once ret solid macro kicked in, the game was more or less even or in ret's favour, but he made a big strategic mistake here, making a spire, while he should get more banglings or zerglings, as he scouted that terran stayed on 1 base, as long as he defended the next push, he would be in perfect situation, IMO, that spire costed him the game Micro - cannot believe no one appreciated the good micro of mmm there? if emperor did that, people would be screaming and cheering like crazy | ||

That one viking probably ended up having like 6 or 7 overlord kills total that game which was a pretty serious damper on unit production. | ||
