The map actually didn't have anything to do with the loss, because the game never got to the late stages. no, cross positions on Meta does not give zerg any advantages. As Cliiide proven in his series vs leenock if you arent fucking garbage you can hang with Z in macro game. But as Mardow kindly pointed out if all you do is SCV all ins how can you ever learn to macro? Just look at that retard sC making tanks and empty bunkers against muta in the SoW, or Best making tanks vs Broodlords game 1.
Put your bias away mate. Every zerg except maybe kyrix would love to spawn cross positions.
1. It gives you more time to build units when your oppenent attacks 2. Easy access to a 2nd expo. As artosis once said, if zerg spawned close to thier oppenent, the game becomes like jungle basin as its an easy first expo but the second expo is hard.

This.
Its funny because if the Terran was some1 like Jinro you would be hearing stuff like "great micro", "OMG so good!11111".....
We all love foreigners to make it far and win but....

Artosis was talking about a big meta game shift around the time of this GSL. I expect to not see half these players ever again once things start getting figured out a little better.

He lost all his queens and T could have easiliy gone banshees and just won it - spinecrawlers did practically nothing vs stimmed marauders with medivacs, , the choke really messed with the ability to get lings out there T even mismicroed and lost 3-4 hellions for nothing.
Ret really lost it in the first attack - he was just scrambling to defend vs the 5 things that T could have followed up (banes vs marines/spire vs air/crawlers for hellions).
I agree actually. Going spire wasn't as important as skipping on an extra spine crawler or two. The T never had more than 2-3 marines in Ret's base at a given time. It was mostly comprised of marauder hellion and of course the viking. If the aggression let up just a little bit Ret could have popped out a Muta or two and stopped the attack dead.

Funny to see how Tastosis find 3G1R viable when day9 trash it all the time

Code B means you'll have to play in a qualifier tournament to get Code A.

i don't think it's unreasonable to think that the better player didn't win the series He didn't all-in either game. He eliminated all the Queens with Banshees and used Hellions to win game 2. He won game 3 with a multi-pronged attack with constant reinforcements. Neither game did he all-in. So,, uh???
Game 3: no expansion after 12 or more minutes, mining with mules is pretty much all-in

not teching colo? does this mean we get to see carriers maybe?
edit: crap, and there goes the robo

i still have my tarutaru leenock to root for

We need a broader map pool with larger balanced maps and the ability for both to veto 2 maps down. That would create better balance over all.

I just can't fathom why GOM got rid of the veto system. Protip: If you want more map variety, introduce more maps.
They got rid of the map veto system because the same 4 or 5 maps(cant remember the exact count) kept showing up and GOM didnt like that and they were right it was growing stale. Introducing maps is up to blizz and they are also heavy sponsors for this tournament so GOM can only do so much regarding that(unless I've misunderstood it completely ).

HongUn teching to Colossus.

This might be true if units were dropped instantly. If he elevatored his attack would have failed straight up b/c speedlings/banes would have been waiting. Plus it is slower = more units made for zerg.
If he makes spines he wins.

The map didn't seem to really factor in the last game. Sure, Jungle sucks for zerg, mostly because there is no real good third base for them. OTOH, some of the areas make it easier for Terran to defend its second or third bases.
Ret lost before anyone could take a third, didn't get backdoored, the units that were defending the back were in position to defeat the drop.
That push could have worked on most maps.

The terran seems a bit disoriented right now

You do not need to expand expand expand and then try to win late game. In fact, it's counterintuitive. Terran has mules, which makes 1 base + strong timing pushes probably the best option to win - especially against a race with insane late game but rather weak and exposed early game. Stop blaming or hating terrans for taking advantage of their racial strengths.
But dont whine about TvZ lategame when your all-in strats dont work anymore. You better start to learn TvZ macro games instead of all-inning every game (yes 1base IS all-in)

oh god, colo vs bio, what a suprise!

Nice nice, taking out the rocks suggest he intends to take this game into a macro game. :D

People don't give enough credit for the viking, that was pretty important.
