Ret was distinctly seemed like a stronger player. What I mean is that while Best played amazingly, he did so with a sort of gimmicky style, while Ret's style is something that will make him the best Zerg in the world soon. Best's use of rapid tech switching was amazing, allowing him to always have the abusive unit composition for the circumstances. It's not something I've seen much of before, at least at that level of execution. While game 2 was on an entirely bullshit map, you can't say the maps are at fault for game 3 at all. Ask yourself why that map is bad for Zerg. Now ask yourself how that could have been an issue in a game against a one-baser. It does play a role in the Zerg's metagame assessment of the map, so I suppose it is abusive in that way, but Ret's metagame assessment could hardly have prepared him for that series. I'm frustrated and disappointed that Ret lost, but his opponent won in an intelligent and well-executed manner. I guess I would be far far more pissed if our boy in blue had lost in any other fashion.

The viking was left to kill overlords after that first push. You can't just blame the maps and balance.

just needed an extra crawler at the choke. Also.. no point in making lings and banelings when you are being forced to pulled drones to surround. Roaches + drones would've helped clean that up.

Ridiculous how only 1 map was good for zerg while the rest were unbelivably horrid. So you would consider not taking an expo and throwing everything he has in one constant attack as not being all-in? If ret had defended, the game would have been over 100%; so I would pretty much consider the terran in that situation to be "all-in"

The Terran played very well with a well thought out strategy in SoW and with incredible micro in Jungle Basin. A lot of you have been complaining about Marine + SCV rushing from Terrans every game when the Zerg FE's and this Terran didn't even really do it once. So, basically, you got your wish and now you are even more up in arms. As far as maps, maybe SoW isn't Zerg favored, but I clearly remember FruitDealer take a victory on it not too long ago. The map is winnable. I remember Idra destroying terran players pre patch on steppes of war. (IEM)

As if spawning cross-position on metalopolis isn't a superbig advantage for Ret in the first game. In game 3 Ret made quite a lot of mistakes and he was outplayed by his opponent. The map actually didn't have anything to do with the loss, because the game never got to the late stages. no, cross positions on Meta does not give zerg any advantages. As Cliiide proven in his series vs leenock if you arent fucking garbage you can hang with Z in macro game. But as Mardow kindly pointed out if all you do is SCV all ins how can you ever learn to macro? Just look at that retard sC making tanks and empty bunkers against muta in the SoW, or Best making tanks vs Broodlords game 1.

Steppes bad map for zerg yes, but the game on Jungle didn't even get to mid and late game. Ret just lost to a timing.
