Game 1 both 4 gate, game 2 both fast colossi, game 3 both blink stalker. It's like they talked about it before hand and decided not to use their newer or more creative builds, at least I hope.

He was in Testers base and there was only 1 attacking him. And he can see there's only 1 DT attacking his own base. So if Tester has more then he's hiding them (which would be unlikely). Leave 6 stalkers initally blocking the cannon while 1 scouts the map and kills buildings.

What I don't get is why zergs don't just pull a Kwanro whenever they scout Foxer doing his 2rax marine rush. They keep throwing low amounts of slow-lings into Foxer's marine micro. It's probably better to get gas, make a bunch of speedlings and Kwanroll Foxer while he's retreating to set up his CC. Tester vs Genius was pretty close. I can see why Genius regards him highly even though he failed to qualify twice. I lol'ed at how the two absolute top Protosses went 4gate vs each other in the first game. Kyrix is apparently on his way to becoming a monster. First he perfects lings/banelings, now he's moving on to roaches, and so on... Love this guy.

There was a huge timing with the hellion after he fended off the baneling bust. He hesitated for a full half a minute before doing anything. If he was worried that Kyrix may be hiding another baneling group, he should have split his 9 hellions, send 2 to scout the surrounding and 6 to harass. If he was worried about a roach switch, he should have switched to marauder right after pumping 9 hellions out. If he had two bunkers worth of marauders at his nat and teched to banshee faster, he wouldn't have lost like that. In the second game, Kyrix made the big mistake of having only two queens, one in each base, and not react after seeing the banshees. That was an auto loss right there. Foxer won against Kyrix with the exact same build, there was no excuse for Boxer to have harassed so ineffectively, killing almost no drones and only queens and losing his first two banshees due to poor micro. He had 4 bunkers to defend against that roach push, he didn't need to park 2 banshees at his choke for a full minute. Even if he felt the need to do so, why not just use one banshee to ATTACK that roach army instead? And send the other banshee to harass the main. Wasn't the point of those two barracks and 4 bunkers delaying the roach army till the banshees have essentially killed all the drones and spire? After that, doesn't matter what the Roaches are killing. Boxer can just lift the buildings and kill all the roaches with the banshees. God, for the first time in my life, I must say that I am disappointed with Boxer. He did incorporate some boxer-esque play with the building placements, the sexy dropship usages. But everything that he did seemed to have missed some sort of timing window. He was always 15 seconds late on everything. ![]() I blame Boxer's poor performance on his lack of a team. He is basically training off only laddering.

I am a Tester fan myself but play more to Genius' style of somewhat safe somewhat boring. Genius and MC both knew that Tester was the only competition in terms of naming the top Protoss in the world even though he did not qualify twice. Man I don't understand how people can say he's garbage (close enough), he didn't even qualify twice in a row. By the results he's shown in this tournament he's STILL a RO 8 GSL player, his skill hasn't diminished, he's just been incredibly unlucky. If this tournament has told us anything it's that TesteR deserves to be in the GSL as he's beating really solid opposition CONVINCINGLY. I Just hope that TesteR can sit down and actually focus on the holes in his build, though it is demotivating when Protoss is somewhat underpowered at the moment but that shouldn't stop him from outplaying his opponents. I think he should revert to a more safe playstyle because he is mechanically as good as anyone but chooses to go off into these super risky builds which is why he probably never qualified this GSL. Ahhh TesteR, when your at your best, I can't see you losing to anyone. But it's so rare people actually think you're overrated. Damn, I sure as heck hope you win this thing man. Protoss and more importantly YOU need this. Good Luck.

And also, that if the OP hadn't made this thread, literally hundreds of people wouldn't have been able to watch these games. Quit being assholes. The point of tournament threads is not only to provide a place for live discussion, but to record results for posterity. The next day, the next week, or even a year from now when somebody wants to find out the results of these matches, this thread will come up first on the list, and its OP should give them everything they need so they have to slog through often 50-200+ pages of crap. This is the hallmark of a good OP, and most TL tournament threads are like this. If this particular OP hadn't made his post, one of thousands of others in the community would have. There is a tradition on TL where the first thread about a tourney becomes the official discussion thread, but the expectation is that the OP's job is to then make quality updates. The fact of the matter is this OP sniped the creation of this thread hours before the event started but clearly had no intention to update it. The only explanation is that he just wants to seek attention for himself to be "the guy who made the thread." If he's not going to do a proper update, then he should leave it to one of many other willing fans in the community.
