1 base marine/raven/banshee push vs 2gate robo collosus and expand. GG ensued.

He said in an interview earlier that he is headed back home to Europe after living in korea for a few months. That's probably what he meant. Wait, Jinro isn't going back to Korea? I think he is confusing him with TLO wait what TLO isn't going back? http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=166588 thx somehow i missed that.

"Liquid is happy to announce that starting this month their European lineup will once again boast the presence of Dario "TLO" Wunsch. TLO will leave for Germany after returning to Korea from MLG Dallas and from his home town of Leipzig will represent Liquid at both continental and international events."
"LiquidNazgul: I'm the manager of the team and the Website, and I helped set up our team house and Korea. I had been going to Korea for a long time and I wanted to make sure our guys were very comfortable in the house.
When I was in Korea I wasn't really practicing, but I did try and qualify for GSL Season 1. I tried my best but didn't really have the practice to do well. After the qualifiers, I moved back to Holland because the house was set up and I felt like our guys had a very nice place to be. "
I guess they are both going to europe. o.O

Here is to hoping they up the prize pool in the next season. They've been playing Halo for 7 years though. It'll go up as sponsors come. If you count all three Halo games, then you should count both SC games, which brings us to about 10 years. MLG didn't have SC1 on the circuit for 10 years though. I thought they meant playing the game in general not at MLG. It's sad though, seeing three shooting games and only one RTS. Nevertheless, it's understandable, because MLG is a business and SC2 hasn't proven itself yet. sc2 has proven itself lol. its just that MLG didnt original plan on hosting sc2 until mid season. that is why the prizes/tournament size was small. I heard rumors of Sc2 having featured stations and its own main stage next year. thats incredible for a game thats new in MLG. other games like Gears and WoW were on the circuit longer and still didnt get a main stage.
I still think the popularity of FPS trumps SC in the States. I think SC2 can catch up once the international viewers are added in though.

MLG is North American and we all know this continent loves it's FPS and console games. :/ As for the payout. Keep in mind, FPS games have big rosters: coach/manager and players/alternates. The money in FPS is kind of ridiculous and I can see that as a barrier to entry into RTS.
That's basically what I'm trying to get at.

I've never even seen Jinro play before this tournament. Very surprised he won.

Gotta say I'm so happy to see Jinro take this one home, especially it being such a huge event. People have been doubting him lately, or just not paying him much attention at all. Out of all the competitors, Jinro winning is my favorite result. What a gentleman and such a nice guy, too! So pleased right now.

Idra got some really bad luck this tournament. He got knocked out of the winners bracket because of a close spawn on metalopolis resulting in a 3rd round cheese. Also knocked out of the loser bracket due to a close spawn Lost Temple resulting in a 3rd round delta quadrant cheese. Both of his opponents got their map choice and cheesed in the 3rd set..really unfortunate for him. : (

I love IdrA but i'm starting to be disappointed to he cannot adapt his play @all.

It's always been that way and I don't see that changing anytime soon even though we have tons of commentators bridging the gap it's hard to change the culture of gamers. You could provide incentives though with sponsorship and bigger prize money.
It's a really big challenge for a FPS player to make the switch to RTS.

Only thing unfortunate for IdrA is that he expects people to play one way, and when they don't he loses. If IdrA, or any SC2 player, relies on luck to win tournaments, than sorry but they don't deserve to win any.
