Fail by me lol Sorry for the confusion. The only person who said he is living in europe now is nazgul. He said he is back in holland now.
"I'm the manager of the team and the Website, and I helped set up our team house and Korea. I had been going to Korea for a long time and I wanted to make sure our guys were very comfortable in the house.
When I was in Korea I wasn't really practicing, but I did try and qualify for GSL Season 1. I tried my best but didn't really have the practice to do well. After the qualifiers, I moved back to Holland because the house was set up and I felt like our guys had a very nice place to be."

Modern Warfare 2 (another Activision game. . .) has to be played online and it was fine. MLG's connection was fine, hence your ability to see what was happening. You really think they could stream video in HD quality but not play a game of StarCraft?
It was some issue of cabling between Dallas and Blizzard's servers. That is a risk Blizzard took when they made the game without LAN and so it's utterly their fault. This wouldn't be so bad if Blizzard hadn't pretended to act as though they were designing the game with eSports in mind.
And for all those saying they could create a tournament edition with LAN - no. How would pros practise if that were done? Practising with lag for a lagless tournament is not good.
Congrats to Jinro, excellent play and I hope to see him qualify for the GSL so we can see more of him.

More or less on time, a great player roster, great stream quality and all in all I had more fun this weekend with this free stream than I did with all of GSL2 so far. Feeling attached to the players help a lot I guess, anyhow, what a blast MLG! just find it funny jinro won MLG and i havent won anything. Just shows you how i really should stop posting. The twelve year old's are out in full force today. Misquoting mixed in with homosexual jokes? You even topped TLO in creativity!

so i decided to play some ladder, because this crap isnt working and i just played a game which made me almost to decide never playing sc2 again.
a 1:30h game pvz on lt with me loosing because he made faggotish 30 spines and just amoved mutas around the map, so i tried to circumvate that by recalling with motherships all over the map, but ofc this sucks, because mothership energy is limited and he camps on the islands.

If you count all three Halo games, then you should count both SC games, which brings us to about 10 years. MLG didn't have SC1 on the circuit for 10 years though. I thought they meant playing the game in general not at MLG. It's sad though, seeing three shooting games and only one RTS. Nevertheless, it's understandable, because MLG is a business and SC2 hasn't proven itself yet. it has nothing to do with sc2 not proving itself. There are more fps gamers then rts. simple fact.
That's kind of the point I was making. Fewer RTS gamers -> less popularity ( What I called "proving" itself ).

It was MLG that was having problems. Their stream was fine it wasn't MLG. either way with LAN, the series wouldn't have been interrupted. so yes it was Blizzard's fault. Didnt you hear what DjWheat said?! They said that it was a problem with the connection, not battlenet. Sorry, but this was MLGs problem thios time. The stream worked and the computers worked. Whatever the issue between them and b.net, LAN would have been the answer. That is an undeniable fact. The Halo tournamnet stopped at the same time as the finals in Sc2 crashed. Halo doesnt play on battlenet. Why did it stop? I went to Modern Warfare 2 and it was going just fine, what happened to Halo? For that matter, how is Halo setup? LAN or is it similar to B.net? We watched streams of replays just fine, so having LAN would allow players to play, and we would have been watching that last game instead of two replays worth of games. halo finished. and its lan. funny how the hardest game at the event to play doesnt even have lan Smash Bros has LAN I'm pretty sure.
Nice troll

That's a weak statement considering how long SC:BW's competitive scene has been around and MLG never gave it's due.
Here's a better one:
MLG is North American and we all know this continent loves it's FPS and console games. :/ As for the payout. Keep in mind, FPS games have big rosters: coach/manager and players/alternates. The money in FPS is kind of ridiculous and I can see that as a barrier to entry into RTS.

Sounds like they wanted him to cover for blizzard to me. He's got to be lying. It doesn't make sense. He isn't saying definitively that happened. He is providing an example of the many possibilities of what happened. The internet is a big thing and any number of problems can occur from a source to a destination. I mean im not a genius or anything when it comes to networking. But if they are casting a stream then? Also if there was an issue it would be all or none with a fiber line being cut..
Sorry I couldn't respond sooner, had to leave for work. Assuming they were using the same connection for the stream as the games (which I doubt), the stream would still be taking a completely different route than the game. MLG is in no way affiliated with blizzard so it would make sense that no effect would be seen on the stream since the stream isn't going to blizzard's servers for distribution.
Basically, a fiber line inside the facility was not cut but something did happen out in the cloud somewhere between the facility and blizzard. It was something uncontrollable at the moment. But still preventable with a LAN system.
EDIT: for clarity.

Grats to Jinro, he deserves it. Blizzard, this isn't the first time server or connection problems have hurt a big tournament...we really need LAN

TLO IDRA > Tester Jinro > TLO Idra... I don't understand your logic.

I'm so happy Jinro won, such a nice guy and great contributor to teamliquid. God I'm so pumped <3 =].

I heard rumors of Sc2 having featured stations and its own main stage next year. thats incredible for a game thats new in MLG. other games like Gears and WoW were on the circuit longer and still didnt get a main stage.

You were always under the spotlight until this tournament. Well deserved win Jinro!

So the stream died on me, and then i left and came back and it was over.
Was the very last game after the 2 hour wait time as anti climatic as expected or what happened on it?
(If anyone would be kind enough to summarize it, as the replays are not up yet in the brackets )
