I dunno what people are talking about but i've watched most of the gsl seasons 1 and 2 and jinro played really solid.
i didn't know who he was before but now i definately know he is one of the top progamers out there. BTW just because he isn't as well known as other people doesn't mean he is bad.
Look at fake boxer...nobody knew him until gsl season 2 ^_^.....now everybody knows jinro and am looking forward to seeing his replays...hopefully he will get invite to gosugamers KOTH as well as the other teamliquid peeps who did really good in the mgl.
plus tbh i thought mgl would be crap compared with gsl but there were a lot of really sick games.

I think it's funny too because Jinro was a beta rockstar. He was a mainstay in all the Zotac and Craft cup tournaments. He was frequently spotlighted on the D9D and was (is!) a rockstar. Then release came and he went to Korea and had a rough spot with the qualifiers.
Good to see him get his spot in the sun again. He definitely deserves it. Hopefully he comes back to the State of the Game podcast as well because he's amazingly insightful.

It's funny that you say that were impressed by jinro's play at the gsl considering he didn't qualify for either GSL tournament.

he was impressive during the qualifiers that he lost and no one saw live...oh wait!!!
|
Maybe he ment compared to the games hes seen in GSL, use your heads.

Very happy for jinro and team liquid. Great to see another title in the hands of team liquid!
TL FIGHTING!

Did he play under a different ID? You may wanna rewatch those first two seasons;)
Anyway, congratz Jinro, that was a really strong showing. Fantastic play and a fully deserved win...can't wait to see more of your games in the future.
Good luck with GSL3 if you are participating, you really deserve to be up there with the best. From what he showed in the MLG he is better then at least half of the final 64 of the GSL2.

"technically" you can see some of his play through Artosis' videos of the qualifier rounds (for both S1 and S2) edit: spelling.

I didnt think FA was jinro?
I knew that was his smurf, but then I swear I saw both ID's posting in a thread or something and assumed it was a different person -_-

damn... huk select kiwi idra all went down

The guy never said he saw Jinro in GSL season 1 or 2, he was implying that he'd seen GSL Season 1 and 2 and Jinro's play seemed up to par with that level of play.

This tournament was really odd- I enjoyed the casting 100% and I didn't see the cheeses, but it was like all the best players got eliminated in reverse order. I don't think FA could win a bo3 or a bo5 against Idra. I just don't buy it.

FA renamed to Jinro on tl.net when he joined Liquid`

Grats to TeamLiquid placing 1st 4th 5th and 7th (of top 8) very nice.

Jinro play was really good through out these games, and it's kinda difficulty to say he sucks, cause he won, and you can't get all the way up to first with just luck + cheese.
But I kinda feel sorry for TTone. He was winning the game played before the huge B-net disconnect, and then that happened. So he lost his chance of catching up to Jinro, and the score was 1 - 0 again, and to add on to all that, there was an hour in and a half wait for B-net to get it's shit straight (yes, I know it wasn't technically B-net, but this whole thing is Blizzard's fault) and so he got way out of his game. The last game, he saw this giant army approaching, and he just quit. Didn't cancel his nexus or try what-so-ever. Kinda sad. Jinro fighting and all, but I wish Blizzard hadn't fucked TTOne over.

i was really rooting for tyler to pull through this one... 4th place, still gud i gues T.T

Based on your logic since torch qualified for gsl season 1 then he must be better than everybody else who didn't Q including jinro. But come on really...is torch better than the others who didn't qualify? Not to insult torch...he is a good player but gsl qualification isn't the main deciding factor that decides who is and isn't a good sc2 player. Plus player skill isn't a constant factor...you can improve as a player by playing games etc and jinro has been playing vs ogs peeps and that's a pretty nice environment to foster an improvement in skills.
I didn't know much about him before mgl but i know that he won against socke when he himself admitted that he never beat him before and i've watched a lot of gsl matches and i thought a lot of the games in mgl were of a very high standard.
Plus a lot of people lose because they meet some1 who has a counter to their style. for example select vs idra and liquidnazgul vs idra. Idra is by most people's opinion a far better player than nazgul and select but idra was beaten on that day plus who is to say jinro didn't have a bad day or match up against a player who countered his style in the 2 gsl qualifiers?!

Idra lost to two people who got dominated by other people who Jinro dominated... If you can keep up with that, how idra was playing vs how Jinro was playing... Jinro probably would have beaten Idra as well. If you don't believe that statement, maybe if Idra did beat his opponent he would have played Jinro (who didn't drop any sets) Don't hate on the victor of the tournament he played very well.

It doesn't really work that way. I'm sorry.
