Halo 1 > All sequels though. that shit was hard to play well. Halo 1 definately the best 1, didn't play the others much i detest playing shooters on consoles, but I played Halo1 so much, even made a network lead out of old scraps and system linked once with 2 tv's in my tiny room ![]()

I am more surprised that half the winning team looked like 13 year olds....that's not cool.. the sad thing is that there are younger pros. I believe the youngest pro was 13, lol.

Because that's pretty disgusting. Also having played Halo 2 in several tournaments the skill required for console gaming isn't that high. Everyone hits the same movement skill cap pretty quickly. Mouse and keyboard demonstrate alot more differential. Not to mention the games on a console typically run slower(Halo being the prime example) When you compare the traditional adaptability of PC FPS games to console the discrepancy just gets larger. Look at CoD4 on console "professionally" and then look at Promod on CoD4. The difference is massive(No hit indicator through objects/walls always stood out in my mind) Watching that MLG MW2 stream was painful, I could see the clunky console controls and the hit indicators through walls. I don't even want to mention the blatantly bad tactical decisions but watching someone score a kill then sprint around the corner only to successfully prevent the tiles on the wall from having bullet holes was only bearable the first time. My buddies Xbox runs off a keyboard and mouse and it pains me to see him crush through people at what is a mediocre PC skill. SC2 needs to get a higher prize pool as the superior e-sport. Unfortunately the NA market is big on consoles and they are more culturally accepted forms of gaming, so marketing influences what we see. cod and halo 2 had enormous amounts of aim assist/bullet magnetism. but even with that halo 2 was different. its funny how button glitches actually saved it also it had good strafe mechanics. imo halo 2 had a good skill gap with examples like the final boss dynasty (not dropping a single game in 2007 national championship) and karma dominating in 1v1's. cod is gross though. it makes halo 3 look like brood war. lol

** here is an idea for local UDP anyway: - Blizzard integrates protected support for direct UDP connections... host / client side. - GSL, MLG and other tourneys can buy montly, local UDP hosting privileges for their accounts (e.g. MLG_host_1, MLG_host_1, etecera). - The "MLG_host_1" account now supports direct connections and all connections to it are independent from Bnet and infact can be local... - Blizzard makes profit (...yeah of course) - Tournaments are not broken
