What is up with this?
I thought the TL forums would be the place to see the least amount of people saying "OMFG THE KOREANS ARE WAY BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE!! THE TOURNAMENT WAS RIGGED TO DO AN EARLY TEAM KILL" and in another post I saw in this thread someone said it was rigged to make it easier on the "Eurotrash." Those were not my words... but it is ridiculous to see that kind of stuff here. (Aside: I thought things just happened to work out that way based on the positions they took determined by the players who could not make it, and how well they did in their group. Furthermore there was a MorroW vs MaNa team kill as well but no one seems to comment on that.)
We already know the Koreans aren't miles ahead. HuK and InControL could have easily qualified, but ended up in the same position as Tester, Nada, Inca and TOP, yet they (Inca and TOP) are still seen as being at a level beyond any foreigners which even includes qualifiers such as Idra and Ret just because they are Korean.
I am NOT saying that overall Koreans aren't better, but to treat all of them like Gods gets frustrating. Am I alone on this, because that almost seems to be the case at times.

I thought you were a girl
Also, manliest pic ever:
manliness overload
omg you are the dude with annoying hair , you stressed me out for the entire tournament, i dislike you sir.
Haha, I´m so sorry I like to fiddle with my hair. I think you should rethink your life if that stresses you out <3

that's why these "top" players aren't playing in the GSL
main reason would probably be that GSL is on korea.
A little less manly, but still a great experience! The oGs-guys were really cool too even though they lacked the english.
Btw, what happend here?
Karatefight! I dont know, we were discussing an idea I have for a daily (Which he approved of) and I dont know how we got into that weird handshake-thingie hehe.

What did you suggest?
Started the discussion with how I liked his BW-dailies a lot more (And I´m still a huge fan of his SC2-dailies) becouse he (and everyone else) knew a lot more about BW so my idea was basicly that he checks some recent BW-games up (This seasons SPL for instance) and just takes things we know from Brood war and applies them to SC2 after. We discussed for instance that you can put a lot more weight in splitting your army into different groups and attacking many spots at the same time from doing a daily based on BW since people are a lot more comfortable with doing it in that game.

You see that is the problem, first people like you say how they are not miles ahead, then they go talking about how big sucsess is to qualify, and XYZ player could have done that. While ofcourse, qualifing for GSL is huge sucsess, that is what peak for most of non korean players is - RO 64. (Cept like 4-5 players) Yeah we did saw some really bad games from Korean player who got lucky with brackets and qualify, but for each lucksack like that, there is 10 Koreans who would destroy pretty much 99% of Europe/NA players.
So set your fact straight, if peek for most of foreign players at GSL would be RO 64, then yes, Koreans are quite ahead. And that is with them playing way shorter then alot of NA/Europe pros who play SC 2 from beta, while it wasnt like that with Koreans, lets not even mention all great players of SC BW who didn't switch yet, but they will have to eventualy.
Actually we saw some really bad games from even "top" korean players. The rest of the post was basically you saying koreans are better because you say so. How quaint.
Pathetic results for the zergs. Good point of this is having a higher chance for a TvP final. So we have to hope that Fenix get's eliminated by Nony oder Socke/Mana. TOP vs Socke or Tyler would be awesome.

No.

Wait... are you suggestiong that if Dimaga or Sockeh were in walking distance of the GSL that they wouldn't try to qualify to play for all that money?? LMAO!!!!!!! WOW!!! Clearly the fact that it is in South Korea makes a difference.
Obviously not everyone can expect for things to work out perfectly so there is a risk associated with going (which is greatly reduced for the many Korean players who wouldn't fly to another country to play but are still capable of qualifying) because getting to the top of that stacked of a tournament is difficult, but apparently you seem to be under the impression that if it were hosted in Europe that 20+ pro korean players would all go over there feeling confident they would all get first place with little risk. Traveling is always expensive and will stop even the best players from going to high profile tournaments because it is so easy for things to go wrong, especially when they would then have to find a way to dedicate the entire month to staying there (which by the way is expensive).
If WhiteRa could drive a few minutes each day to play I am positive he would go, but leaving his wife for an entire month every time he qualifies and then paying for living arrangements the entire time just to hope he at least breaks even from a high ranking is impractical.

i think so. Incontrol and huk can qualify, but many of nameless Korean players can too... if there are 80 foreigner players who can qualify, also there are 300 Korean players who can qualify.. The difference is obviously the number of people who can qualify.

Well my point is any of the foreigners who bothered to try to qualify had the potential. Artosis could... torch could, so I don't see why it would be out of reach of SeleCT and KiWiKaKi either. The point is, a whole bunch of people are capable, so saying that for all those players who went and could qualify that other Koreans could qualify, that also means a bunch of American and European players could also qualify.
That was probably a bit difficult to follow, I'm not writing the most coherent sentences right now since I'm rushing. The point is, yes many not so well known Koreans could qualify, but the same could then be said about a bunch of players form Europe and America.
Honestly for the whole Korean/Foreigner argument, if the same amount of Koreans and Foreigners all competed to qualify for the GSL I would be hard pressed to believe it wouldn't be very close proportions. That being said, I do believe the absolute best players in Korea (this does not include Inca or TOP) would probably defeat the absolute best anywhere else currently.
Yeah, the Dreamhack website is VERY tricky to navigate. Where are the streams? Where are the brackets? It's a labyrinth (I've found what I needed but it took me way longer than necessary).
Also, what time tomorrow does the round of 8 start?

Ya it is a giant pain, and the website is designed poorly enough that you can't even find a bracket. It also doesn't help that the OP was never updated with it, but I believe I found a link somewhere on page 97 if I remember correctly (of this thread). Too lazy to check... good luck finding it.
