Oh my...another imba discussion.

Besides that, I wished it was a bo7 or something since why do they have to end the convention so early? Not like gamers go to bed at this time (9 PM PST for those wondering).

I stopped reading at outmicroed.

I'm sorry that your definition of micro is the hold position micro with MM that a silver-league player can do.

Dropping banelings mid-battle and flanking is (if I had to put a mathematical value to it) something like 50 times harder than your precious "micro."

Sadly, when I look at either the Lite Flash or the RayV player, all I get is this:

Yeah, I spoke too soon sadly =( even the ray v player recording is corrupted.

These Terran trolls are so annoying, are you gonna complain that PvT is horribly imbalanced too if Boxer loses to his P opponent in Ro32?

Hardly anyone's really frothing at the mouth about it. If you want to seriously argue the fact that Zerg will win any macro war against the other two races in late game, go right ahead.

I think the solution to defeating Zerg will be from denying expos throughout the game, because it's inherently impossible to outmacro them if you just try to split the map.

Guess what, ZvP works the same way. Zerg will inevitably outmacro the P if you just let them freely expand all over the map, that's just inherently how the Z race works. But you know... P deals with this through carefully thought out timing pushes at various stages of the game. Terrans just haven't adapted yet, and would rather whine about it.

Why are you being so hostile? I said "the other two races". I'm not saying Z is too strong. I'm saying Z macro is stronger, so people should probably try deny the macro from ramping up instead of trading armies. Boxer would have probably done better if he'd denied those expos with timely scouting and a single medivac.

The truth is hostile? Have even read some of these posts that are souring up one of the most epic matches of SC2 so far? The trolls were out in full force today.

and no, his macro was never better than now, probably even worse at some points in his career (see him having trouble beating protoss in his heyday, a matchup based on economy and army size, not so much strategy or positioning as tvz or tvt)

what would the sc2 community in tl.net say if flash and jaedong decided to switch over for a little while i wonder ;P the skillgap is still huge

Next GSL will be Flash vs Jaedong if both switched now.

Besides, Fruit was probably the better player in BW compared to Boxer when before both switched. Boxer hasn't been the same in BW since 2005.

isn't raging about imba while completely ignoring player decisions in a live report thread a bannable offense?

Who's raging about imba? I see more posts complaining about balance whining than I see actual balance whining. It's not unreasonable to talk about matchups if it's constructive and not outright whining. After an epic ZvT it's natural that people will talk about how lategame ZvT works.

It'd be fine if the immediate argument wasn't "hey blizzard did something wrong" instead of "what did fruitdealer do to win so decisively". I don't know about all the other people whining about whiners, but I'm just sort of disappointed that even with a boxer vs fruitdealer exhibition casted by tastosis AND day9, there's someone who still finds something to be mad about.

Wait, so a guy who had his third and fourth live sc2 matches ever was supposed to just take care of the clear champion of gsl1? Boxer is improving incredibly quickly but come on now, he lost to the guy who even blizzard people thought couldn't win because of his race, and now his race is better. Give the legend time to be great again, it won't take long. Until then, hold out on the imba cries if he can't keep up with #1.

There's a base in my base!

Man, Boxer really could have taken that last game. When will people learn that siege tanks don't always need to be sieged in SC2.

It's true, though. We know BoxeR's SC1 control is godlike, but in that game he was dominated in every aspect.

the truth is all games vs zerg look like race against time, u cant rly play long games because he will outmacro and rape you, thats not rly fun or healthy approach to the game, i wish blizzard tweaked this aspect so every race could enjoy fair macro game like in bw.

Some absolutely incredible games. While it would have been awesome for BoxeR to win, it would also be a little disappointing, in a way. Fruit Dealer is, far and away, the best Starcraft II player out there. While everyone wants The Emperor to do well, and he definitely will, he's just not at FD's level yet. No one else is either.

BoxeR displayed that he has what it takes to contend with the best, and Fruit Dealer showed true potential to become the first SC2 bonjwa (somewhat ironically). I can't wait for what's to come.

Boxer's macro was fine in that game (both games actually). If you guys haven't noticed, his units were constantly being pumped out as many as it can. But the thing with Z is that because of the larvae inject, you have 6~10 units (or a little more, say 5rax/3 facts) for T being reinforced as opposed to 40+ units coming from Z each wave.

So im guessing boxer got a little to anxious after winning that straight up fight at the gold from multiple fronts. Most Ts, including myself do make a mistake of over pushing which boxer did (it would work in BW btw since the amount of reinforcements from Z is literally cut in half or more). He should have regathered his forces for another push.

I don't think that's the argument. And I don't see anyone mad, except a few single-digit smurf accounts with their one-liner raging. I don't even think there's an argument, but rather a discussion.

I can see that any strategy discussion that factors races into it is bound to be treated as a balance whine, and that's probably understandable, given how much whining there is. So I'll stop talking about it here, just adding that I don't think for one second that FD won because he was Zerg, but rather that he's really good at playing his race and the game in general.

I'm more interested in how ZvT will evolve. This was an epic match with epic casting.
