Is it bad if I'm looking forward more to the 3rd place match than the winner? If it's IdrA vx TLO, omfg awsome xD. If it's Nony vs TLO, still sick. But, if it's Nony vs WhiteRA in the finals, a PvP would be boring. As much as I wanna see IdrA play TLO, especially before TLO picks a race, its good if the invitational didn't have a boring final so there can be more later on

I'd like to change my vote in NonY vs Idra, I'd say out of those 2, patch 12 is going to win.

This patch is great for the fans. We're going to see more unit diversity from Idra (if he doesn't get cheesed) as well as get the chance to see how a player his caliber responds to changes with little practice. Personally I'm excited to see if anything in his build changes, but who knows.

I think the fact that Roaches got nerfed will be more of an impetus for Idra to be more creative... and more open to copying TLO's speedling run-by technique, which worked REALLY well against WhiteRa. And if it worked against WhiteRa, it should work decently well against ANY Protoss...

Idra should try to abuse TLO's Zerg if he finds himself having trouble against Nony (not to knock Idra's techniques, which are amazing as is...but if he needs an early game technique...). We all know how thick-headed Idra can be (see his game against Joseki's Thor-ship). Idra can take this, though I'm rooting for WhiteRa.

Prediction: Idra > Nony, then WhiteRa > Idra in finals.

Speedling run-by is a standard strategy since... BW. It's not TLO's innovation...

Right, but Idra usually doesn't use it... except in that one game against Ret; maybe it'll be more reinforcement for him to try to mix things up a bit.

Really enjoyed the stream. Whether people like the outcome or not, the whole series had a real intensity to it, top quality viewing! Plus I'm sure there was over 15,000 viewers towards the end!

Great stuff!

If white-ra lost to TLO's zerg twice, I doubt he'll be able to take down Idra.
Also, the strategy that TLO used on ScrapStation has been around since month 1 of beta. It stops both 1-gate-starport and 1-gate-robo. I don't think TLO should have randomed himself into oblivion.

I'm not sure, but I don't think Random players were allowed to arbitrarily stop playing as Random part-way through the tournament.
And I think that since Roaches got nerfed to two supply instead of one, it'll help WhiteRa a lot against Idra (if they meet in the finals). WhiteRa could probably out-macro Idra if he attacks early enough. I think that it'll go to an ace match either way.

I think his point is that TLO beat white-ra without using any roaches, so why couldn't Idra.

I didn't say he couldn't. In fact, I said he COULD. I actually said that Idra should probably try the speedling idea that TLO used (and that Idra himself used against Ret) instead of just relying on Roaches like he usually does (especially with the new nerf). I just don't know how prepared Idra is going to be with the nerf, since he can get pretty stolid at times (like against Joseki's Thor-ship build). WhiteRa is great with FFs but still allowed the speedling run-bys into his base, which lost him both games against TLO. If he can stop those, I think he'll perform extremely well against Zergs. I think it'll be 3-2 WhiteRa against Idra. (I assume Idra will beat Nony.)

I guess this is the downside to having a tourney during a beta. Constant balance patches mess players up!

Yeah it sucks for the players but is not like they have money invested in this tournament, only time.
