It's situational, but I'd generally recommend feedback if you have other troops around. Even if you don't kill the medivacs with feedback, denying them the ability to heal really weakens the drop a ton.

When should I be opening gateway-nexus as opposed to nexus first? I've been opening gateway-nexus in every matchup but pvp for early adept harass, but does the nexus-first earlier second gateway help make up for the later cycore?

Has anyone tested out the difference?

Consider the hp on the medivac and the energy available. Most of the time feedback is better but if the purple bar is really low (like 20 energy low) then storm will do more damage just remember to use the air markers and not to actually storm the medivacs themselves.

If I expand early in PvP I Iose to early pressure.
If I pressure early, I lose in macro.
I don't get it.

I cannot win against any zerg. I seriously couldn't remember when I win against Z. "ANY" suggestion would be very useful since, I am about to quit every PvZ right from the start.

How do I stargate in PvP? I want to mass phoenix but I'm having some trouble.

I open nexus first into 2 adept rush, then add a robo and stargate. Then make an oracle and start phoenix, while adding 2 gateways. I also make immortals. I die shortly after I take my third because of a lack of units. What build order should I use?

When should I transition out of phoenix? What should I make with my stargates? (Carrier or tempest?)
Set a course, take it slow, make it happen :)

I do PvZ 7-gate all in. Works quite well. Use the adepts to scout whether he is going roach or ling. If he's going roach, warp in a round of adepts and then start warping in stalkers after that. If he's going ling, warp in pure adepts. Sentries can be useful for FF as well.

Opener:
17 nexus
17 gate
18 gas, 19 gas
... Add 1 more gateway, then cyber, chrono boost 2 adepts, get warpgate and MSC
... Robo facility (warp prism)
... Add up to 7 gates

Should hit @ 5:30. Make sure to not lose the warp prism.
Set a course, take it slow, make it happen :)

How do I hold a cannon rush? My previous approach that worked in HotS was to reexpand and outtech opponent, but that doesnt work now. Any ideas?

I build my pylon nearby the ramp PvZ style. After putting down the pylon on 14, go scout. If he has a forge (or no buildings) immediately wall off with gates and pylons. Get gas and cyber core and rush for MSC and 2 stalkers. Add pylons to re-inforce your wall.

As wandroid mentioned, adepts are really important in PvZ. I would stress the importance of using them for harassment early on. They're kind of like hellions in TvZ in HotS. You're not trying to do damage with them although you probably will, but instead just trying to force out a bunch of lings. You need to only send them in two at a time so they can one shot lings and drones. They're also really good in the early-midgame in numbers, kind of like marauders. If you don't use adept harassment, you need to go Nexus first although Nexus first is dependent on having a backdoor natural or else you can lose to speedling all-ins.

you can build 2 pylons in range of a cannon and beat it with photon overcharge

He plays stalkerless, you can find this style most commonly on the EU server atm, Morrow does the same thing in his streams, and KR is now starting to copy it. Start with either nexus first or nexus after gas, first tech building is stargate and it needs to go down by 2:55 to get an oracle out by 4:15~ to avoid any early roach rush, you can go either 2 gate or single gate for adept harass, throw down robotics to continue adept harass through warp prism and then build 4-5 immortals, early twilight for charge upgrade and forge for weapons +1, you take your third early (when you have ~2-3 military units out).

Some protoss prefer to start zealot into double adept to prevent a run by, some prefer a defensive stance of stalker into double sentry, the single stalker is to deny overlord scouting and it also blocks diagonal walls better. Sentry's normally build into pheonix instead of oracle before pheonix, you use the hallicinated pheonix to scout and the real pheonix to snipe overlords.

Most protoss place the 2nd robo and support bay to get 2 disruptors at a time, others drop 1-2 more stargates and go up to tempest, some get storm research started, it is all preference.

This is very imba build on korea master + gm right now. I can only beat with cheese all in. I tried 14 games but all lose. He pull ahead with phoenix snipes queens and single hydras

I tried :

- Mass queen : not mobile enough. wasted supply. delays tech and I have no units to contest map for map control and protoss can expand like he wants to !


- Mass spores : I lose to many drones and bad echo. Protoss then goes into expand and has more probes. Auto-loss

- Fast 2 base hydra : Lose to adepts with upgrade. No chance !

- fast spire corruptor : It is super weak and look at top, no map control, no harass for protoss expand.

I even tried a couple of spores + a couple of queens. It don't work he just build phoenix and kill overlords, single queens, harass and picks up gas drones.

I can only win when ling + baneling bust off of 2 base !

I don't know what to do anymore. I trained it a bit with GM protoss, but he always win.

(please don'T tell protoss players about this build. the less protoss people know the better.)


Is this a legit build and if so, what is the build order like?

is there a midgame comp that can defeat enemy protoss before they reach a critical mass of stalker/disruptor? im thinking that since a lot of protoss skip (or delay) upgrades in pvp since it comes down to disruptor shots, there might be room for an upgraded style of beefy ground units that can sustain shots and then roll over the army, especially if the enemy toss is gunning for the disruptor tech

I've been doing ok with zealot/immortal/archon, as long as you are on top of your micro vs the disruptors, you should do fine. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but you cant really use the disruptors on the zealots in battle since they have a high potential of blowing up your own units as well, and you can split your immo/archon vs the disruptors. This comp basically rips through stalkers so you only need to worry about the disruptors.
To pray is to accept defeat.
