queens are wicked in zvt, you can honestly go up to as many as 6-7 if you want. it's an investment but it's fantastic against hellbats and banshees and then you obviously get tons of creep spread/all the injects you ever want on 3/4 bases + macro hatch

agree with zerge in zvp except if they're going skytoss with void rays in which case there is no reason to stop building queens until he stops building voids

how do you beat 90 apm protoss on 4p maps that take a 6min 3rd off of forge first and then mass stargate units? fuck this retarded game

For late game you either need to go super greedy into muta corruptor ling since 90 apm won't be that helpful in defending
Or go into queen corruptor viper infestor with mass creep (need practice for this annoying to control well)

hi im playing in a private tournament tomorrow and my next match is a zvz. my opponent opens most of his zvz's 12p/11g speedling baneling. is there are a safe build to counter this? was thinking 14g/14p but not sure.

this is correct. This is why many protoss opt for mass sentry into Blink stalker/immortal as a standard. and even then, ling hydra still is effective

Sorry for the late response I think it was around 10-11 min or so I haven't used it in a very long time since I like playing the late game zvp
This is the BO I copied it from I think when I used to do it.
Dont' try to nydus their base btw it's only to get across the map faster.

Hi all.

I have been having trouble in zvp while facing gate openers. I would like to have a greedy build but not insane. Most times I play vs gateway openers end up losing to some shitty allin or way behind in eco if they take a 3rd. I had the early game figured out against FFE but now being gate openers more common I'm kind of lost.

Is it best tech up to hive behind it? infestors? double evo and go into roach hydra? spire to force phoenix and then hit again with more hydra ling/roach hydra?

Hm...I really don't see how he could hold back Ling Hydra if going straight to Stargate against ~50 Lings and ~14 Hydras. Maybe your saturation is messed up? I aim for 4 gas, 2 base mineral optimal saturation, and 10 drones mining on 3rd. From there I just make 14 Hydras and mass Lings and hit at 10:30. Always works if he's massing Stargate units and even worse if they have a 3rd base. Just swing to the base that's least defended and wreck it. From there make Roach Hydra, tech to Hive and get Vipers for ~15:00 follow up timing. Oftentimes just throwing more Ling Hydra works though since rushing to Stargate is so bad.

Work on your map presence. You should be checking around for probes and watching the front of their natural with 4 early lings. If they aren't moving out, you should be droning. You can watch the gas of their natural. If they don't take it, they're probably going to attack, but don't depend on this as gas timings are unreliable reads. Get a few roaches between 7:30 and 8:00 if they don't take an early third. Gate first openings, 4 gates hit around 7:00. Forge first is around 7:30. Other attacks are later. Also, make sure your overlord is scouting between 6:00 and 7:00.

oh yeah i get 3 bases fully saturated with no macro hatches, so i dont have close to that many lings

I'll be speaking on the assumption you're opening with the standard 3 base ZvP macro opener.

First step is learning how to defend early MSC/Zealot/Stalker pressure. Pulling Queens and making a few Lings is oftentimes enough although you have to be a bit patient while your Queens waddle their way over. Spotting the pressure early is key so be careful so that you don't wait too long or you lose your third. From there the Protoss really doesn't have much options to be aggressive really early on unless they go for 4 gate. Just keep an eye on their natural gases and send an Overlord in to make sure between 5:45 and 6:00. Otherwise you can really just drone up freely.

The thing is that i dont really know if its safe to open blindly 3 hatch before pool. To do that I suppose drone scout is mandatory (in order not to die against cannon rushes). If opened 3 hatch before pool, when does the gas should be taken? Defending 3 or 4 gates without speedlings or roaches seems almost impossible to me... What do u suggest?
