I feel totally lost in ZvT.

Compared to WoL, I can not rely on late game anymore, yet zerg mid game is now weaker, our harass was massively nerfed and T harass buffed.

I have never seen any major imbalance in ZvT in WoL, yet in HotS all aspects of game at every stage were made harder and more risky for zerg... Where exactly Im supposed to focus on?

Harassing is harder, defense against harass is harder, mid game was nerfed and late game was nerfed - when should I try to win?

I feel the exact same thing. Although our late game is still quite strong, with ultras being buffed and all, getting there is nearly impossible. T starts throwing stuff at me (bio+mine) and no matter how I try I can't trade cost efficiently. If I'm sending in a few lings at a time to set off some widow mines, this gives him time to snipe one of my expansions. If I run in, even with 3 flanks, I half of my army still gets obliterated due to mines.

I hate how we are forced to use ling-bling-muta now. Don't get me wrong, it's more fun than infestors, but in WoL you could at least go either way. Defending against drops is so impossible without mutas..

What the hell do we do?

Actually i think 14g/14p/21h is way better on the ladder than 15p/16h/16g because
- You have early map control, good to scout what your opponent preppares
- You are safe against any sort of all-in, and it's BO-win against the mighty 8-10 pool
- You can chose to be agressive or defensive, and your opponent doesnt know what you'll do.

Just pull 2 drones from gas when you got 100, if your opponents expanded fast.

Eh 15 pool 16 h 16 gas is still better economically. 14/14/21 you kind of have to make speedlings and try to do damage or you will fall way way behind economically.

Is there a build order or at least lair/gas timing for the ZvP Queen/SH nydus play anywhere? I can't seem to find one. I just sort of make it up on the spot every ZvP and knowing the timings would help immensely. My 36% winrate vs toss is only thing holding me back from masters! : (

Same. I'm getting absolutely rocked. 68% winrate vT in wol to 36% in hots. I played a very heavy ling/bane macro style...everything that the terran got in hots is really good at killing that. Widow mines are hugely frustrating to play against right now.

i have a question about morphing drones into buildings. I often see pro player streams where they create two vespene extractors in a split-second, selecting multiple drones, where the nearest drone then morphes into the extractor. I tried to replicate this process with several shift-holding methods. But nothing comes close to the "pro technique". When i try to build multiple spinecrawlers for example, holding down only the hotkey and not pressing shift at all, it works like a charm. But this works only for spinecrawlers an nothing else.

Here is a video of catZ doing exactly what i mean (@00:09:15)

Or just click b-e twice, instead of holding shift. Whatever you prefer.

Been having a lot of trouble with 8 min hell bat drops. I use my overlord at around 7 min and sac it, and I CAN see the armory going down which helps me know it's coming. But what should I do to protect myself? I have about three queens and a spine at each mineral line but hell bats combined with healing from medivac are nigh impossible to kill. Should I just start going roach builds in ZvT to prevent this?

Due to the constant reaper openings from Terran is a kind of Spanishiwa ish 4 queen and delayed gas an effective opening?
As the reaper opening is 99% of the time transitioned into hellions?

If you scout an early gas, which can mean reapers, get a gas yourself, get speed. Still go 4 queen though.

If no gas: go 4 queen.

1. what is the best composition vs hellbat/marauder? i played vs this also in late game..

2. in my experience air toss in very very late game (like many carriers, void and some templars in some cases) is pretty much unbeatable.. my army was melt instantly every time i try to fight toss.. what do you think? should i attack before toss has the "final" army? or what?

1. In zvz when you hit 2/2 upgrades with your mutas are you suppose to tech hive or keep producing mutas?

2. In zvz when are you suppose to take a 4th base? (Assuming muta vs muta)

assuming you're talking about 18 supply fast 3rd since I believe I do the same opening.
early 3 hatch queens with no gas can deal with reapers just fine, you don't need speed. it's really important to have a spine at ur 3rd and 3 queens together at ur nat otherwise you can lose queens to 1/2 reaper 6 hellion pressure.
getting a few defensive roaches is useful against more than 4 hellions though.
