Hey guys,
I'm recently back to sc2 and it's my first time trying Mech vs Z in Hots and i have a question. Is mutalisk now "stronger" against Thor? Cause i remember in WoL that 3 thors would make those muta packs shit their pants, now i kinda get rolled by muta packs with like 5, 6 thors in my mix...

Throwing in a few vikings, ravens or widow mines in helps a lot.vikings help vs brood lords, mines help vs roaches and ravens help vs well... Ravens are just really good.

sooooo with new ladder season coming up, anyone put any thought into the new maps? Daedelus Point looks particularly rough for terran from my (limited) point of view. short rush distance between nats, exposed third, not much cliff space for reapers but lots for blink stalkers, and the main ramp can be ff'd from the lowground outside the nat. with no real good 1 base aggressive builds to turn to v p, how will i solve the problem of securing the nat?

will your builds be changing much for this map?

unless you are putting your thors into single shot mode, there shouldn't be any changes.

Can terran just sit back and macro up to 200/200 or do we need to be active with the first medivacs and drops? I have been trying to macro up but its not working..terrans absolutely needs to be aggressive or Im just not macroing good enough?

Absolutely agressive with bio. Drop half for the scouting, half for the damage it causes. With stim, your great bio strength is stimming into a place with zero defense and gtfo'ing with no losses.

TvT if he's a meching player with 50 turrets, you're allowed to go a base or two up on him and sometimes that means you hit 200/200 with higher upgrades before him. I say sometimes because if this involves a fast third, you're looking to punish the new area he has to defend with sieging cliffs, sieging natural, taking some losses on weakest area of turrets. Very situational against a 2-base mech terran, usually inadequate against any 3base TvT.

Even in Mech TvZ, you stay agressive with hellion drops and runby's and doing siege pushes to fourths and the like.

What do you think is the best way to deal with Dear's 10 Gate Pressure Opening.

The attack hits pretty fast with the zeal and MSC followed by the 2 stalkers. I don't have a replay, but if you really need one let me know and I'll go fetch it

In TvT how do I beat a mech player who ends up maxing with tanks and vikings? I was bio with some tanks. I couldnt do much with drops because he had lots of planetary fortress and 5-6 turrets in each base...

Hard to help you without a replay, we can't really know what you're doing wrong. There's some tips for bio vs mech in the op.

Assuming a fast expand build; something like a 13gas reaper.

Getting that bunker on 20 with a fast expand build is mandatory IMO.

Reaper should be spotting the zealot coming across the map, taking pot shots, and getting in the bunker to deflect the zealot while 2 marines are in the main. As soon as you can have enough rines in the main to hold the MSC as well as have some in the bunker, get your reaper out for a scout + harass to force units to come home and/or be made, further delaying aggression and tech/expansion.

You should need to pull and lose some SCV's when the stalkers go for a walk-by. This still a very good trade for your in return for having 2 orbitals up when your opponent doesn't expand until ~30 supply and has to deal with the reaper harass at home. *Anecdotal* I think losing 5-6 SCV's is probably fine here given the delay of tech and economy in his build.

Its 12 gas reaper and mine 100 gas for reaper and reactor just for clarity. If you go 13 your basically going for a 1/1/1 build.

these new maps are fucking horrible. I was master last season and I keep losing to fucking goldleague. Blink allins are just way way too fucking strong. Seriously, fuck you blizzard you incompetent *****

Blink allins are very strong in any map with lots of cliff space around the main. Marine tank 2 base allin my brethen! They cant move down the main to natural ramp without taking tank fire, if they go templar dont do it though ^^
