Im only gold leveler so of course.

its essential that you split and target fire each thor with 30+ roaches, you need then hotkey a few banes and take out any repairing scvs, ive noticed in all of my games they always have a few scvs with them, now heres the big thing, i always tech lords so not a problem for me but i make 8 mutalisks and just annoy him . . if he falls for it, hell pull the thors back, you go crazy on ling reinforcements. when he comes back (maybe with another thor) surround! Ive usually got 2/2/2 by this point of the game and i will say sometimes this doesnt work, if hes expanding behind all of this then ive never won using this but the battles go on forever, always 40 minute+ games.

My problem of course in low league is control and cost efficient trades, i know i can beat it but an A moving terran army with splash damage is hard. Its soo cool of a feeling when you nail it and overcome it though and these replays go in my feelGood folder


spines are useless against thors.

there are 4 options:
1) trade a lot with roaches/banelings IF he has no tanks and his thor count is low. drops, burrow, catching him as he leaves his base, anything to keep his thor count low. contain him to 2 bases, keep map control. if he tries to fight and you know youre gonna lose, back off and wait for more units and/or backstab

2) roach infestor+neural direct fight. beware of tanks here again, losing infestors to tanks is bad. again, this is about trading and leaving his thor count low.

3) go straight to hive. do not pass go. do not collect 200 dollars. i prefer broodlord/infestor here to ultra crackling. make sure to spread broodlords

4) if hes really tank/hellion heavy, mutas. magic box the few thors he has, take map control, deny the third, etc.

5) if he has no tanks at all: NESTEAAAAA

basically, if you don't let him take a third, you'll usually be fine. a good place to fight is right as he's taking his third. when he repositions his army, if you can hit at that exact moment, you should be good. this does take a lot of scouting though

Okay i will be honest. Your army was lower on resources then his. Terrible engagement. Lings attacking the hellion marine front while ultras sat in the back doing nothing. Also this desperatly move with infestors trying to neural those thors while only two fungal were thrown off from 12(!) nearly full infestors. And all died for nothing. Try to fungal and IT more with neural when you CAN but don´t force it.

Then if you saw his army of marine hellion thor medi and saw no tanks why did you not made all those lings into banelings?
But then the unforgiving happened your macro slipped away. Don´t try to engage when you don´t have the force to do it. Rally and gather your army. Take expansions. Sacrifice your fourth, third to buy time till you have enough ling bling ultra again and switch those drones to other expos you should have had to that point and time in the game. Also you should consider if you have like over 3k banked mins to throw down extra hatches.
