Also, do you guys use TheCore's Shift+# (create control group) more than Ctrl+# (add to control group)? I'm thinking about switching Ctrl and Shift back to their defaults, as I add units to existing control groups (as well as create new ones if it's already empty) after every production cycle from midgame on, and Shift is easier to reach if I'm going to be using that key more. What was the reasoning behind the Ctrl-Shift switch in TheCore's layout?

Double click to select same units and shift add to control group would probably be faster since you don't have to stretch your thumb out to reach Ctrl. Though there are times when I double click a unit/building and it doesn't select them all for some reason, don't know what's up with that. If Ctrl click is favored over double click to prevent that from happening I would see the justification (also decreases work of index finger I guess). Is double clicking not recommended or something?
Using RRM since it gets updated more and it's what everyone here is using anyway, plus the layout is more intuitive. Maybe I can start playing random again.
Home keys: JIOP RCtrl for thumb J(cg1): Macro Army O(cg2): Army1 L(cg3): Army2/Spellcasters/Tanks 9(cg4): Army3/Drop/Air units/whatever 0(cg5): Macro Economy/Upgrades Some mouse button for tabbing J and 0 macro groups
Spell1 is most used/only spell, guess Spell3 is least used: K: Spell1 RF ;: Spell2 -: Spell2 RF I: Spell3 ': Spell3 RF
Pretty much what MassSpecd and I guess everyone else is using.
P for Attack is nice, using it for everything with the occasional [ for Hold. And Ctrl click > dbl click, reason I'm making thumb home key as RCtrl over RShift since I like to select all same units fairly often (still kind of a stretch for me though).
Anyway, that's the base I'm going to stick with before making any changes, until 3.0 arrives anyway (when???). If it's still far off, I'm thinking about making ctrl:add/steal and ctrl/shift:create/steal as well.
you either have to add them in yourself. or you can find my recent post or someone elses and see how they set them up. When the new and improved 3.0 keys come out then there will be no red.
I guess this has been asked before, but I did not really find an answer for it. So the larva inject video seems to be out of date, since the used hotkeys are different in the video. Injecting with camera locations seems to be very inefficient now, since you have to let go of ctrl every time you inject, then hit it again to jump to the next location.
What is the intended way of doing this now with TheCore 2.0? I'm using the ZRM layout btw. Thanks!
To inject I use the base location camera hotkey = make a huge box to priority select the queen, hold shift and then hold - which will que up all the injects as - is rapid fire just hold - until the red cross show the queens can do anymore. Then hit the = to go to the next base. I am sure this is probably not the most efficient. But it will stop wandering queens and such.
dahappychappy do the same thing with location cameras. It is a great method using camera location. P.S. don't make a huge box make a queen sized box. Toward the location of the hatchery.
Hey guys, does anyone know, how i can change "Select Unit Type" [shift+Select Unit] and "Add to Selection" [ctrl+Select Unit]? I can´t find the options for that.
Hi, I have been away from SC2 and TheCore for almost 3 years now.
Now trying to learn TheCore 2.0 ZRM.
- How do you creep spread with 2.0 ZRM? I have been wrapping my head around the spreadsheet, but I have not figured out a fluent method. Nor have I found any updated information on this in this thread.

@ MilExo, I don´t mean the Control Groups. I mean the function to select all Units on the screen (with "double klick one Unit" or "shift+Select Unit" in TheCore). And the function to Add to Selection/ Deselect from Selection (with "ctrl+Select Unit" in TheCore).
Been messing a lot with modifiers. It'll probably be race based which ones we use for what. e.g. zerg will be best to have add, add steal, and create. But terran's can make better use of create steal instead of add steal. Closing in on a decision, but the main limiting factor is the actual grind of building the layouts.
@BanBe, those settings you cannot alter as they are hardcoded in the game. Control+Click will always select all of the same unit type. If you want to change that to Shift, you would need software to change what your keys does, effectively changing your "Shift" key to become "Ctrl". This is not unique to TheCore, but is the same for every hotkey layout in the game.
Been using the core for a while! I am a music teacher (piano mostly) and the ergonomic/technical benefits appeal to me greatly as there is considerable overlap between the two disciplines. Was wondering about tge resources->1.0 Control Groups, Abilites, and Cameras->random->right handed .jpegs/.gifs. They are all listed a protoss and the control groups, etc. are WAY different!
I have been converting several of my friends/students to the core, but they are all asking for the correct RRM visual aids! Anyway we can get them posted/updated?

I use a + version of ZRM 2.0. Shift at application key, control on shift, and alt on ctrl. I use Shift + Control for create, create steal on shift, and add steal on control. I myself do not use any shared control groups, therefore I only use the "steal" modifiers. I feel like many other zergs do not use shared control groups.
My question for you Jak is why should zerg have regular create?
