Hey Jakatak, what's the difference between L, N, and 2 in your setup and what are their respective keys in Master spreadsheet? I got:

	Jak			Master spreadsheet
L: Normal cast I
N: Slow Rapid Fire? O?
2: Fast Rapid Fire? L

There are multiple RF keys, do they have different speeds or something?

Hi JaKaTaK, I copied your video hotkeys (core 3.0 work in progress) and converted them to RRM (took me a long time). I have been playing Zerg lately and am struggling when I go to make a spine, I hold position all my workers if i accidentally select another unit in the group because the hold key is the same as the spine part of build spine. I was wondering how you avoid this. Do you individually click on a drone for each building or do you ctrl click on drones (then you might pull someone off gas too). Was wondering your method for building buildings as Zerg.

Hi all!
First of all, one question: what is the TAB key in TheCore setup, you know, that key that allows to go through different buildings in a same control group.
One more: the hotkey setups are radically different for Terran, Zerg and Protoss or I've installed them incorrectly?

I've downloaded all three setups because it's hard for me to choose a faction. I'm a new player to Starcraft. I've played all the campaigns, terran, zerg and protoss, and ranked silver in ladder. I know I need to choose a race to better play the game in ladder (tips on how to choose?) and if it is correct and TheCore offers very different hotkey setups for all three races it is another reason to pick a race the sooner the better.

Hi Acenus, You can play random to Grandmasters like WinterSC on the NA server (doesnt use the core) I play mostly Teran but enjoy playing the other races and for that reason I use the random hotkey setup!! Just like JaKaTaK himself. I feel like if people using stardard hotkeys can make it to grandmasters, so can I, I dont need the race specific optimizations. Also tab is replaced with your mouse side buttons, if you dont have them I believe JaKaTaK says you can use the rotate camera hotkey that is closest to your hand on the keyboard, or I guess whatever works. I use my side buttons and find that good.

Good job, video kept my attention for my adhd self. Even university professors are adding in random funny pics in their lectures, otherwise death by powerpoint.

The new Alt+ function overlaps with create cameras. I'm thinking of just overwriting the create cameras with something else as it's just done once at the beginning of the game. Still trying to figure out the best way using just the left hand since you need the right hand on the mouse to click different locations.

To reduce finger repetition, it was decided that TheCore layouts were to be structured with 2 fingers handling control groups and 2 fingers on abilities. By using keyscores and a lot of weights for different control groups and ability keys, the splits you see now were found. There are 4 files showing the results nested in 2.0 spreadsheet. [link]. The 6 different splits for fingers were color-coded.

That's the short of it

A bit of an off topic question, that map where you're testing the splits on, the one where you can spawn whatever units you want, what is it called? I can't find it

Nice vid Jak. Just got a chance to sit down and watch it. I have a feeling that there will be two different versions of the core 3.0. One to support players that keep some units in multiple cgs and one that doesn't. Or you could leave it up to the end user to bind the modifiers to suit their needs.

Either way, any ideas on an ergonomic method of having at least 3 of the options (create, create/steal and add/steal for example) without completely screwing everything up or getting carpul tunnel (sp?)?

Stop is easier to reach than Hold? What's the tldr on kiting/orbwalking?

A=P, might as well use A and ignore P.
H=S, 1 less step/faster than A, S has advantage over H in forming better concave.

Chasing: A
Target fire: A (safe), Rclick (fast)
Retreating: H or S?

Like, is S actually better than H for retreating? (say stimmed rines vs melees/blings) What about killing workers? Seems players like Polt just mash H all the time.

I'm considering using core 2.0 RRM (primary zerg player). The hotkey download and the spreadsheet don't really match so which one would be more up to date?

I am a RRM user and thought I would post JaK's prelim core 3.0 setup shown in the video. I also removed alt from centering the camera.

These are only the multiplayer keys done.

When the game starts to center the camera I use = then, alt+j

I am using the RMM as well (with a few customizations/alterations)

It is really a bummer about the modifiers being so difficult to use with the thumb on the right side of the keyboard. Does anyone have any good ideas about alternates to this attack on Jakatak's ergo hotkey set-up?

Would love to start using this, but as other users said, it conflicts with he current hotkeys for creating/adding to control group, and the camera locations modifiers that were set up by default on the RRM set-up. Any help would deb great, thnx

This feels familiar...where have I been here before?

The four home keys get CtrlGroup1, CtrlGroup2, Ability1, and Ability2. So like, does Attack count as Ability1? And Ability2 is the most used spell (Stim, Blink, etc.)?

Also, do you guys use TheCore's Shift+# (create control group) more than Ctrl+# (add to control group)? I'm thinking about switching Ctrl and Shift back to their defaults, as I add units to existing control groups (as well as create new ones if it's already empty) after every production cycle from midgame on, and Shift is easier to reach if I'm going to be using that key more. What was the reasoning behind the Ctrl-Shift switch in TheCore's layout?

the reasoning is to be able to ctrl click a bunch of units, or ctrl click your larva eggs, hold that ctrl input and add it to a hotkey
