First of all, one question: what is the TAB key in TheCore setup, you know, that key that allows to go through different buildings in a same control group. One more: the hotkey setups are radically different for Terran, Zerg and Protoss or I've installed them incorrectly? I've downloaded all three setups because it's hard for me to choose a faction. I'm a new player to Starcraft. I've played all the campaigns, terran, zerg and protoss, and ranked silver in ladder. I know I need to choose a race to better play the game in ladder (tips on how to choose?) and if it is correct and TheCore offers very different hotkey setups for all three races it is another reason to pick a race the sooner the better. | ||

The new Alt+ function overlaps with create cameras. I'm thinking of just overwriting the create cameras with something else as it's just done once at the beginning of the game. Still trying to figure out the best way using just the left hand since you need the right hand on the mouse to click different locations. | ||

To reduce finger repetition, it was decided that TheCore layouts were to be structured with 2 fingers handling control groups and 2 fingers on abilities. By using keyscores and a lot of weights for different control groups and ability keys, the splits you see now were found. There are 4 files showing the results nested in 2.0 spreadsheet. [link]. The 6 different splits for fingers were color-coded. That's the short of it ![]() | ||

Either way, any ideas on an ergonomic method of having at least 3 of the options (create, create/steal and add/steal for example) without completely screwing everything up or getting carpul tunnel (sp?)? | ||

A=P, might as well use A and ignore P. H=S, 1 less step/faster than A, S has advantage over H in forming better concave. Chasing: A Target fire: A (safe), Rclick (fast) Retreating: H or S? Like, is S actually better than H for retreating? (say stimmed rines vs melees/blings) What about killing workers? Seems players like Polt just mash H all the time. | ||

It is really a bummer about the modifiers being so difficult to use with the thumb on the right side of the keyboard. Does anyone have any good ideas about alternates to this attack on Jakatak's ergo hotkey set-up? Would love to start using this, but as other users said, it conflicts with he current hotkeys for creating/adding to control group, and the camera locations modifiers that were set up by default on the RRM set-up. Any help would deb great, thnx | ||

Also, do you guys use TheCore's Shift+# (create control group) more than Ctrl+# (add to control group)? I'm thinking about switching Ctrl and Shift back to their defaults, as I add units to existing control groups (as well as create new ones if it's already empty) after every production cycle from midgame on, and Shift is easier to reach if I'm going to be using that key more. What was the reasoning behind the Ctrl-Shift switch in TheCore's layout? | ||
