What I'm curious about, is why would you go for this build if your opponent is going 6/7 pool? I'd think by the time they show up it's still a standard terran opening and you'd be able to divert from doing this if need be. If it's a 6 pool, it doesn't really matter what you follow up with after you hold it off (it ends up transitioning into banelings usually, which reapers can handle)

Also roach opening is fairly common if you see more than 1 reaper, which negates alot of the damage you get from reaper harrass. (this is not just theory-crafting, this is what I did vs this build when I played pride today, having never played vs this build, once I scouted the 5 rax fairly quickly and I stopped drones and made pure roach/ling with spines. While the final battle ended up being faily close, as he brought all his scvs, a ton of maraders and reapers, I won without having to pull a single drone.) As much as I want to help you improve your build, its highly cheesy, and as a zerg, we get cheesed enough as it is. terran has enough cheesy builds as it is

If seeing one reaper is enough to make a GM zerg go roach... then I can see 2 port banshee becoming popular again. Baiting with 3 reapers into 2 port banshee with double expand (1 PF).

One suggestion I want to make is that it might be possible to make another opening with reapers against zerg. I was inspired with this thoght after watching a GSL game on metalopolis where the person had this viable timing with Marauders that failed because the Marauders couldn't circumnavigate the spine defense before enough lings could be rallied to handle them and win the game. You can probably find a build with Marauders and reapers that can be more effective than blue flame openings and faster than hellion drop openings.

Or you had left less than 8 reapers it would end right there too, since there would be too little to half the ling count (usually between 12 - 20) in 3 shots. He was guessing you'd transition into banshee. I think dropping a scan after he spots the banshees would be a good insurance move to see if he either goes anti-banshee response (spire + spores) or anti-reaper response (roach + ling/bling). The minerals lost from less mule < intel; you were floating alot of minerals. Enough to double expand.

Eh, what? You serious? Zergs almost never double overlord scout vs terran because its basically impossible on most maps. On a 4 player map you're lucky to get a single overlord near the terran base in early game, getting two in there is just impossible. And luckily, zergs don't HAVE to double ovie scout.

1. Don't forget to kite queens with reapers. I almost forgot this was possible 2. Abuse cliffs like a madman 3. Once you have enough reapers, you can snipe crawlers. Alternatively, you can poke at his buildings. 30 damage (-1/-2 depending on armor) per hit against buildings is no joke. If you can snipe a key tech building, it's game (whether it be hatch, pool or spire) 4. Reapers 2shot lings, don't be worried to engage once you have enough. 5. Don't forget to build units while you expand, but don't leave your reapers unattended. Miss one thing and they can all be gone. Ovie scouts may not happen, depending on positions and the map
