Watching it on esl stream right now. Both players have muta ling (a ton of mutas, 20+) and both players went for the attack upgrade on mutas, nerchio went to 2-0 and violet to 1-0 Why do the players go for attack upgrades, where the armour upgrades not way better in muta vs muta?

Its just...when I see them on streams.....I actually quite rarely see them looking at the minimap Different pros have different preferences; some use their peripheral vision, others actively divide their attention around the screen. Monitor size also makes a difference when it comes to how clear the minimap is within peripheral vision. Either way, the minimap is on all of their minds and they are very aware (most of the time) of what's going on.

As a Zerg, if I'm playing against a Protoss who goes Nexus first AND pylon blocks my natural, how should I punish him for this? I'm pretty sure this is excessively greedy. If I send 6 lings to his base, then it takes me forever to get my hatch up - is that generally what I should do anyway? Thanks

Whenever I see something red on the minimap my eyes instantly jump to it. For people who arent trained to do that already, it helps to actively check the minimap often to get into the habit of paying attention to that area of screen. Do a content search for what you are looking for, limit it to the subforum the thread is in, and it should list all recent posts matching search criteria as the post number under the thread link. Thanks You can send the lings to his base and expand to the 3rd simultaneously, or leave 2 and send 4 depending on how many you make. The goal of the lings isn't to kill him since you won't have enough, but rather stay in the main and be annoying and deny as much mining time as possible.

About 1-2 years ago there was a thread on TL.net where someone, working as someone quite important at a very big company, posted screenshots of running starcraft (not sure if it was sc2 or sc1) on like 16 huge monitors in some kind of control room. Like 3x4 meters or so. and it was all one big image, not 16 identical ones. Please if someone remembers that thread. Give me a link ! I literally spent about 1 hour trying to find it with TL.net search ![]()

Thanks You can expand to the third, they shouldn't be able to pylon block you there and finish their wall on most maps against 14 pool six ling push. Obviously bigger maps that can be a problem. Always a possibility is fast gas, since you can always abuse tech advantage against a nexus first. Banelings, roaches, hell, even 1 base nydus is always an option as long as you deny the probe and/or zealot scout and clear the pylons in a timely enough fashion to not make your opponent suspicious. Phoenix scout, which is the fastest t2 scout for Protoss that I know of out of an FFE, is much slower than any kind of 1 base play, takes way to much time building a gasless 2-base economy to have any kind of comparable tech. Or, if the sort of the fancies you, you can always pool the gas for a 2-base spire play or some such. Many things you can do with fast gas.

How and why does he do that? Not sure what you're talking about, can you link a VoD? Just a guess, is it lings following roaches? If so it's because they move at different speeds but he wants to keep them together, so he moves just the roaches while the lings are following a roach (select all and right click to a unit).

Not, its not that kind of a thing... This is actually a pretty bad example, because its rather short and shows only a few units but it's the first one i found: http://tv.majorleaguegaming.com/videos/90120-wsf-b-marinekingprime-vs-stephano At 11:42 you can see that 3 infestors stand in the middle and 3 other infestors + a few lings run around them.

It looks like that's just his rally point, so different units got there at different times.

I remember a good one on metropolis, where stephano sent about 20-30 lings to a watchtower and some of them stood around it while the other half was running around as if they wanted to get closer to the tower, but unfortunately i don't remember where this was... But if you pay attention you'll probably notice it in a bunch of other games too. On January 07 2013 22:02 Raggamuffinoo wrote: Shift move/attack move commands can cause this, the first units to get there will block the next units from following the same path. Kind of that might be the case, it's just that I think I never saw that thing at any other player, so it kind of interested me ^^
