Like when I box all my workers and have lets say 30. I want to select just 16, how I am doing it right now is hold shift and click probes so that one gets unselcted with every click until i end up having 2 rows. Isn't there a possibility to do it with 16 click? I tried shift, ctrl, left, right click nothing seems to work :O I don't believe there is a way. I think the fastest way to do it would be to just select the 16 you want with drag select after selecting them all to see how many there are. Thanks a lot! How do you transfer workers from an oversaturated lets say second base to your third? If you have more than one "Tab" of workers it seems kinda complicated to count how many there are, then shift-click enough away to have 16 left on your old base. The universal way of doing this is learning how to box all your mining workers on minerals actively to know how much you have. (Might not be needed in HOTS since they have a worker count above the hatchery/nexus/Command C) Two rows is 16 workers which is optimal, anything more can be reallocated. First box to do a count, then box the workers returning a mineral patch up to 8 or 6-7 and then move them to your expo. CatZ is a perfect example of a pro who is incredibly active about it, check out some of his VODS.
Sometimes it's tricky to box all the workers on minerals without getting any of the gas ones. An easier method is just to box all mining workers (minerals and gas). Since there will always be two in the gas geysers, you want there to be 20 selected (2 and a half rows). Then as above, once you know how many extras you have, box approximately that many, shift-add or remove as necessary, then transfer them.
Yes it does take an extra second if there's more than one page since you have to flip to the second page to check how many are there, but c'est la vie. As far as I know, there's no hotkey to change pages. Can anyone confirm that?

Why don't Zerg (vZ) players burrow a baneling underneath their Queens to prevent losing those to a ling run-by?
Also, Why aren't Zerg players keeping drop-capable Overlords above their mineral lines to prevent harrassement from hellions/banes/lings/whateverHitsGround?
I realize it might not be quite the good section, but maybe someone can answer me, or spread the good news, if it turns out to be a good idea.

Pretty simple question here.
How much APM should a decent zerg player have?

Since you won't have burrow technology when ling-runbys are at the most prevalent time in the game. Sure it happens sometimes later on (when armies consist of mass roach) but the most effective way of defending this is just ot have a wall at your natural or a few units just chilling by your hatchery to prevent a huge backstab from weaker lings.
Drop is a different issue because, it's rarely ever researched. Same with overlord speed I find, probably get's the most use vs Terran Mech and sometimes Toss.
@RebornLegend - Define decent? At least 100, 150-200++ is where most "decent" zergs are at. You should be able to inject off 3 bases (so 3 queens) without having them stack up a ton of energy while being able to do other stuff (Army management, eco management, creep spreading, etc.)

..how do I download then watch replays?
For example, I download this one http://drop.sc/186739 Then I try to open and it says "windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
Silly question, I'm sure, but I don't know what to do. This happens for basically any DLed replay I try to open

Gonna have to elaborate on decent, and really, regardless of what you mean by it, APM is pretty irrelevant; A zerg could have perfect injects and creep spread and be chilling at 70-80 APM. Better way to ask the question is how much APM does the average zerg have at x league/level.

Set the replay files to open with the sc2switcher exe by default.
Path to the sc2 switcher is X:\XXX\StarCraft II\Support\SC2Switcher.exe
|
It wouldn't let me select the switcher. It would behave as if it did, but it didn't actually select it.. that probably doesn't mean much to you. But basically it's not working if I did it right.
Right click the file -> open with -> choose default program -> brose -> switcher, click Open. Then the SC2 setup is what comes up. I click OK.
Double click the replay file, SC2 opens, I log in and nothing happens, as if I didn't click the replay.

You could just move the replay into the replay folder, then open it from within starcraft. Documents\StarCraft II\Accounts\your account name\random numbers\Replays

Ahh yes, wonderful. Thank you!

As zerg production is dictated by larva, is it better just to let your larva build up with a good bank of resources and then get units as and when you see fit, rather than spending the larva immediately? I realise this would require good scouting . Thx

Yeah, "StarCraft II Setup" is the main StarCraft II.exe which is denoted as setup for some reason. Switcher should be denoted as "StarCraft II," and when done properly you shouldn't even be prompted to log in -- which again is another sign you're still on the default sc2 exe. I wouldn't know why it's not letting you switch, though.
Theres another way to fix it by editing your registry, but I've never done it myself, as it's pretty nice watching replays without logging in.

Alright. i usually hover between 80-100 and i try to stay on top of my injects and creep. Im sadly only in bronze league but its only cause i haven't had a lot of time to play lately to get myself promoted but i finish around gold.

How many vikings does it take to one-shot a medivac?

Assuming no air upgrades, 6.

Thx no its not if you can always keep your larvae below three (aside from a couple seconds after each the inject hatchs) then the hatch will continue making larvae and youll just overall have more this way

I've set my mouse so my wheel acts the same as a right mouse clock using X-Button. Is this against the rules?
|
I'm not sure, I personally find this dubious. I think the rules say that one press must be one action, so you can't use macros. With one hit on a (free-spin) wheel you could potentially do a lot more things with one "button-press", but it's all the same action. I do know it was popular a while ago for massive Infested Terrans.

Does anybody have a replay of a pro player performing a winning hellion/marau push against protoss ?

Nony vs SjoW NASL season 3 game 1 on Taldarim Altar is the first that comes to mind, don't remember any others.
