what is the optimal number of worker for a 8 mineral patch base (standard)? some of mineral seems closer than other so the advice of blizzard of 3 workers per mineral 8*3=24 seems to me a little bit too important with 2 gaz it up to 30 worker for just one base. I would like to know the real optimal number of worker and to know if it is map dependant. Thanks all

What happened to the Grandmaster rankings for previous season? Can they be found somewhere else? They used to be here: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/ladder/grandmaster/last/1 but there are no rankings. Did Blizzard discontinue them or were they moved after tha last patch?

Thanks all with more than 2 drones/patch you stop gaining the full capacity of a worker. so 16 drones on a normal 8 patch mineral line. if you also are mining gas, an easy way to count your workers is to select all worker in that bas (dbl click or ctrl+click one drone) and you should get 2 full rows + 4 (since 2 are inside the gas) you still gain more minerals /min if you make 3 workers/patch but it is not optimal optimal saturation.

At most you can get 1 queen+speed like in zvz, which goes 15 hatch 15gas 15pool 17 OV, and then pull a drone off gas Cut all production, when pool finishes start speed+make a queen By then youll have an extra 100 or so mins but honestly you should use it on 2 sets of lings/ 1 drone 1 ling, you wont be able to have the money to be hitting double injects anyways

Terran sometimes have to be aggressive, and zerg can waste a lot of units VERY easily.Which race can play macro games and have the least losses due to bad luck even at the highest levels? However, protoss have to deal with "bad luck" as well. Sometimes the game comes down to hitting the F key perfectly on the ramp...

Just search TvP and you should find lots of builds. The most popular build at the moment is the Bomber TvP build found here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=340714

Do you happen to know the most popular TvT and TvZ ones? I'm gold league if that means anything.

Well TvT is probably the Thorzain build, which Day9 did a daily on here: youtube.com/watch?v=hhaKzevyjyg TvZ is the Taeja build, which once again Day9 did a daily on: youtube.com/watch?v=y6QnAX-QW3M

I usually push when 1-1 + Reconstitution finishes around 11 minutes, but sometimes my Protoss opponent has alot of Sentries with Immortals mixed in. Combined with his Stalker backbone, my Roaches are screwed. Do I just take a 3rd and go to Hive for Broodlord/Corruptor, or do I start using Infestors? OR Should I go Roach/Ling and just attack him from 2 different directions?

OR Should I go Roach/Ling and just attack him from 2 different directions? Why are you on two bases versus protoss, assuming he opens with a standard Forge Fast Expand, you should be cutting gas and taking a third base at 4:00 minutes ingame time. You should also ask yourself why you haven't been scouting your opponents unit composition prior to attacking or making units at all. If, however, you are comfortable spamming roaches for this timing, I would recommend teching to burrow + tunnelling claws + infestation pit after your army is on the map. To come back to your original question: think to yourself what options zerg has against terrain obstacles. Off the top of my head I can think of burrow movement, overlord drops, infested terrans, nydus worms to circumvent his frontal defenses completely, ultralisks, mutalisks and broodlords. Other not-so-obvious options are: using speedlings to force defensive forcefields over and over until his sentry energy is low, seeing his defensive unit composition and expanding at will or picking an area of the map with open ground or multiple attack paths to control so any engagement will be in your favour i.e. he will need to cast many forcefields in order to defend his army.

I have a simple question: As protoss: Until how long in game time should I continue to produce probes (special build order variations non-withstanding)? The # I should aim for is about 72 I believe, but I'm just curious if any brotosses have a ballpark point in time at which they used for hitting this number. Thanks, Gunjam

Replay 1 Replay 2 So my question is, what is this? A bug? A hack? A bot? Some kind of peripheral that results in crazy APM? I don't really care if this player is cheating or whatever, it's silver league so who cares. I'm just really curious and I want to know if anyone can tell me what I was facing. Since my opponent was called "BladeRunner", I'm hoping it was a replicant. I hear they have insane APM.
