Some replays vs a friend who does this style EVERY GAME, and often wins despite being low plat and i'm diamond: + Show Spoiler +Game 1: http://drop.sc/229556I had both spines at third instead of 1 at nat and 1 at third, cost me queens/injects and probably lost me the game. Void ray denying fourth sealed my fate. Game 2: http://drop.sc/229557I forgot that he does this zealot build, and upon remembering I just herp-derped and lost my third. Failed macro game from there, kind of embarassing (Y)
Hey guys, I have a question of my own. What is the correct response to FFE into 2gate +1 zealot pressure into fast third (6:30) I know it's a build order loss to any sort of roach all-in, but I just don't know how to deal with 4 +1 zealots at my third at 7:00. while still being able to kill him for getting such a late cyber. I see my options as: 1) Get 5:30 double gas/roach warren, do some sort of roach all-in after scouting 2 gates 2) Build a few spines (How many?) and try to defend with spine/queen/a few lings 3) Mass lings @6:30
After defending, should I: A) Take a fourth due to his super-delayed WG, fast tech to mutas and basetrade if he moves out B) Mass roaches and attack at 11:00 C) Take a fast fourth and fast-tech to hive, then broodlords
My logic is that he is unable to be aggressive until his WG finishes, which is around 10:30. I could easily get 4 bases and mutas before his attack, but I could also try to "just go fucking kill him" before 10:30 because he will have nothing.
I just don't know how to defend it properly and how to take advantage of my "lead". If only Zerg had DTs or immortals...

In ZvZ, what is a good way to fend off a speedling all-in (the one that comes to mind occurs when a player floods zerglings at around 5:30 for a 6 minute move out, Tang made a guide for it)?

Baneling...morph 4 at 5:30. Make sure to get gas at 17 at the latest, get speed then bane nest, morph 4 banes and take a third! Speedling all ins are laughable. If he gets banes of his own THEN you'll need to make extra lings/spines.

Alright, thank you! :D Makes me feel much better. I even see pros lose to speedling all-ins on stream and such, but I imagine they might just be being greedy. x.x' Would you recommend morphing 4 defensive banelings at 5:30 every game, since speedlings are almost always going to be present in some form?

Yes, definitely. You can even take a safe, fast third with banelings; you'll at least be able to buy enough time to get more ling/bane of your own if theyre being really aggressive. However, this doesn't mean you can just skip scouting. Last thing you want is a bunch of +1 roaches at your door and you have a few lings and 4 banes spines + lings is enough to EASILY hold. Try to flank with the lings while he's in range of spines...he can't retreat, and he takes maximum DPS :D

Thank you so much. You have eased a lot of my uneasiness about ZvZ.

I just watched a PvP where one player was in a great position, but made a misstep and couldn't retreat, so he lost. He had 2k banked, though, which made me think:
In late game tons-of-lasers PvP, if you're maxed, is it worthwhile to have like 10-15 cannons behind to army to cover your escape? Like, an absurd number of cannons in the middle of the map like you're a Zerg with spine crawlers? Or is it better to just have the bank.

Would it be beneficial to Starcraft II if the Colossus unit was cut

Bank (it'd be better to warp in a round of zealots); lategame PvP is almost always colossus-centric, and they'll just wreck through the cannons with their +range.

No.
Colossii are incredibly vulnerable to any opposing army on a similar level of tech, and so are high templars. The unit isn't a problem, but it might seem like it if there's a skill level discrepancy.

vs protoss i always go pool first. but ive actually been running accross this alot more vs terrans, iether placing a bunker/engie bay/depot at my natural before i can place my hatch down. this is usually followed up by some kind of early agression. my response for terran has been a gas pool right when i see it. i have tried to take a 3rd location instead of my natural but that leaves me very open to hellion/marine pressure early on. my advise, is gas pool, then take your natural and get queens out as soon as possible.

Yes, it should. For example, warp-in should be made only near already built nexus/gate/warp prism. That will make PvP so much better, and I don't see how it'll break other match-ups. It may even fix PvT a bit.

Protoss is getting quite an overhaul in HoTS, both PvT and PvZ will change completely with the new defensive tech and the air support.

If a nuke is canceled, you get the nuke back, right? That would mean the rocket flying back into the academy :D

Nope, once it's launched it's gone whether it hits or not.

Would anyone know the link to that website that you could upload your replay and it would break it down and show you army supply workers and other things? ( Its kinda like SC2gears but not its online and not SC2gears). I know this is poorly worded but Ive been looking for it for a while and i cant seem to find it. PM me just in case to much comes up in this post and i miss the answer thanks.

Assuming you mean NASL (season 3 LAN finals) not TSL, the NASL replays previously have been released about a month (or just under) after the tournament. This is assuming they continue to release the replays of course. Look out for a thread in the next couple of weeks, or if you are a subscriber I believe you get sent an email about it.
