Everything after that and on top of that is basically for free. The problem is not that you spend money on burrow and fall behind, the problem is the window between burrow being available and detection being rampant is just way too small and units that are burrowed are in a very high risk position where if they're spotted you're basically done.

But they NEED to get that detection. That is a significant economical damage you did to them with just one pretty cheap upgrade. Building lots of detecting static defenses, and all those detecting units. If they spend enough to cover everything, you will have a big economic advantage. And if they didn't, you will find holes to exploit with burrow.

I am well aware that this is an old post. I typed burrow into the search engine and it was pulling up alot of random stuff most of which was closed. I figured it would be much better to add onto a existing thread as opposed to creating a completely new one. If it would have been better for me not to have bumped this old thread and have created a new one instead or have not said anything about this at all let me know. The OP has been edited with a new idea for burrow I recently thought of. Although it is not a new concept I would like to hear the communities opinion on it. (it is the bolded edit in the OP)

Terran players are too careless with their mass marines/MmM and just walk all over your banelings asking for a bust. Which is pretty much game changing.

All theory craft, but after I thought of this I remembered why I feared zerg once upon a time. ZvT, I want to see 5 or 6 banelings burrowed in the mineral lines at the opponent's natural before the expo goes down. who lie in wait until the Terran maynards, or until he saturates. You could probably destroy half his total workers, instantly, with no room for mitigating micro (unless he scouts it beforehand), all for like 300/150 + 100/100 for burrow. and even if he does scout it beforehand, he's still set back. He either waits until he has raven to expand (haw haw economic rofl-stomp), scans before landing (no mule, and unless he has his army nearby you can always un-burrow and skedaddle), or expands somewhere else (making muta or ling harass that much harder to stop) . seems like a natural followup from a failed Bling bust (or, a deliberately undersized bling bust). Terran will probably respond either by trying to expo, or knock you out right then and there (in which case, you can unburrow and flank him when his force engages yours. At the very least, Zerg should do this enough so that it becomes a credible threat which Terran must account for. edit: works with zerglings too. unburrowing 6 zerglings in his natural's mineral lines while executing a normal muta harass requires 2 extra keystrokes from you, but turns a muta harass into a dual pronged harass; much harder to stop.
