I really like The Fortress and this map, Obsidian. Too bad Blizzard and/or the TLMC judges seem hellbent on only promoting 2 players maps

I think those mains have 5(!) different places that you can drop 3 pylons walls in cannon rushes. That seems... excessive. Could probably stand to be more convex.

I do wonder how 4 player maps would work and affect the meta game. That being said there will always be that weird map that gets vetoed. Now its Purity, if this comes out it would be banned to hell.

I remember the glory days of starcraft2 when 4 player maps were completely standard. I say bring back the 4 player maps.

But who are you saying that to? GSL has 4p maps, because someone at Afreeca likes them, but as for ladder maps they generally go through TLMC and this is what the pro players who judge it think about 4p maps:

Maps should influence the meta, not the other way around.

Agreed. I don't think it's healthy for the game long-term if pros get all the say in what kind of maps they'll have to play on. They're always going to want maps that are comfortable, which usually means the more divergent map designs get disregarded almost immediately. The 12 worker start presented a challenge regarding 4 player maps, but we took the easy way out and just ousted them entirely.
