I am not good with programming and nor the SC2 map editor but a simplfied formula for a ELO rating is: Rating points = (T+400*(W-L))/G Where T=Total of opponents points (all of your oppodents points added together) W=Total number of games won. T=Total number of games lost. G=Total number of games played Let all players start with 1000 points. This means that if you beat one player with 1000 points then you have (1000+400*1)/1=1400 points. But if you beat another player with 1000 points you'll still only have 1400 ( (2000+400*2)/2=1400 ) so you have to beat better players to actually incrise your ELO. This is a simplified version of a standard ELO system. We could ofc assign letters to different intervals e.g. 0 - 799 = E, 800 - 1199 = D, 1200 - 1799 = C etc.... Getting more than 3000 points in this system is almost impossible, so it has a nice, almost converging roof of points. Anyone with SC2 mapping skills want to make a test map? Got greenlight from a moderator (not hot_bid  ) to make a thread in the SC2 tourney section, so post comming up later today. | ||

Anyone wanna make a test map with this and see how it works? Btw, if we can name the different ranks, what shall they be called? A B C D E Bronze Silver Gold Platinum Diamond Master Would be nice with something completely new. On the other hand, it might be confusing too. "So.. you play Starbow, punk?" "Yes." I propose the inverse awesomeness naming where skill = survivability of named species: lvl1: Tyrannosourus Rex (Already extinct since 65 million years ago) lvl2: Mammoth (Already extinct since several thousand years ago) lvl3: White Tiger (Severely endangered) lvl4: Human (Pretty tough to cause extinct) lvl5: Mouse (really really hard to cause extinct) lvl6: Cockroach (near-impossible to cause extinct) lvl7: Bacteria (As impossible to cause extinction as you can get) why? because if I am a new player then being a T-rex is awesome, and if I'm a seasoned player I can take pride in my skill knowing what being a bacteria represents. | ||

Ranking system based on comparing Epenises. You win point, then you get some of yours opponents length. You lose, you lose length. With that system we can not only have either hiden or visible ELO equalivent but also leagues based on that (bronze =Asian, master =Nigger, etc) No more pointless argues over internet whose penis is bigger! User was warned for this post Seems like somebody doesnt have sense of humor here. At least, finally, asians wouldnt be so dominating. | ||
