But... it seems in SCBW that it was orange goo spewing out and dribbling over the side, no? The new model doesn't seem to embody that, or look like it. Perhaps that could be remedied?
wow, i never really looked at this until now, i figured it would be some cheap low quality knockoff of bw but i couldnt be more wrong air stacking, actual micro, no automining workers? REAVERS?
i think im finally going to open my sc2 again. ( :

Page 15 of this thread. It's green goo. But yeah, I'll stop responding to these.
If you guys have thoughts, just keep 'em coming. I only ask that you validate your sources before you do.

Everybody wins.
I'm not talking about the green goo that comes out of the bottom of the model and the right side of the model, I'm talking about the pillar of the model, that is not orange? In the SC2 model you have, it seems, like a dark purple with some orange. For accuracy's sake, shouldn't this be bright orange?

SC2 is a much darker game than SC1 visually. What was bright orange in BW(the "flesh" of just about every zerg building) is more subdued in the context of SC2, resulting in a more brown color.
Flesh in SC2 is blue+red and then varied depending on how thick it is supposed to be. It then blends to brown for the carapace. It's just orange at a very low, low brightness with high saturation.
I figured Kinetic_Inferno up there wasn't here when we had this conversation pages ago.
Anyhow, it looks awful without carapace. It can be improved of course but then to dispute and struggle over such minor details would be a waste of time better spent making other models and textures.
I'm confident the one's I'm providing you guys aren't that "wrong". Second passes and such nuances will be done but for efficiency these should suffice. All your well grounded suggestions and what you propose are taken seriously though and may or may not appear when the models and textures get a second go.
Edit:
Soon I'll be posting my work through the blog (http://gnareffotsirksc2.blogspot.com/) and we can discuss stuff there further without crowding this thread.
Gna I take it back. It looks allot better in motion. I still think that "tooth" is inconviently placed but when the back fins vibrate (really cool btw) you can appreciate that the tooth is infront.
worked pretty hard to get the animations correct and smooth theres still this annoying 0.5 second long time where the morph finishes and theres nothing and then the sunken will suddenly appear but i dont think i can fix that.
Arch, no taking back. keke Srsly, though, it's okay. I was just nervous that other viewers would be put off. You know those who just come, read one post, then decide this mod is terrible. :D Doing this with a particular widely known book caused endless wars.
Anyway, this is why I made a blog instead so that people who are really interested can get to a more detailed discussion over things.
One other thing i dont like in SC2 yet i liked SC1 is the drone morphing into building, in SC2 it looks like that drone is swimming in the morphing building until its complete but in SC1 it looked like the drone was morphing completely through the building process, and the morphing texture is much better than SC2 ones

Thou remaking that will be a one hell of a job
My thought on SC1 stuff =D
woot!? The SC2 morphing is AWESOME imo.. It looks disgusting and ZERGY XD

To tell you the truth ever since SC2 came out i find starcraft a bit odd, less mistery-ish and less unique, in SC1 for example Terran was notably lower tech/crude and it worked but in SC2 its Super mega high tech stuff and i dont like that much, cause SC1 has a totally different feeling than SC2
Another example are the zerg voices for the units, in SC2 they sound really generic like the infestors spitting/burping and other similar sounds or the overlords and the iconic zerglings sound worse than the zerglings from SC1, the SC1 zerg sounds were much more fitting than this, and dont forget that we dont have the overmind's voice for the zerg in SC2 and that sux
I could keep on talking why SC1 was and is better (mostly for me) but that's just personal preference(for us that grew up with SC1) =D
SC1 was more unique and it feels very much different than SC2 . . . i should better stop talking before my head explodes from disappointment's xD
